Counselling Services We Offer

Counselling For Children

We have a dedicated childrens room equipped with toys and therapeutic games. The younger children are engaged in play therapy involving activities such as drawing, playing with the dolls house or on the car mat and role play while older children complete activities on paper, the whiteboard, role plays or play creative games.

What To Expect During a Consultation?

Parents are usually seen on their own prior to the childs first session. This enables us to obtain the background to the problem and a detailed history. When the psychologist is seeing your child you will be invited to the last 5 10 minutes of the session.

With the child present we give the parent a summary of the session and details of any homework that may be required. Children usually love this part of the session as they get to show their work to their parents and tell them about all the fun activities they completed.

How Many Sessions Will Your Child Need?

The number of sessions required will vary depending on the complexity of the childs issues. When the problems are relatively straight forward a series of six sessions may be enough. For more complex problems ongoing long-term therapy may be required. The psychologist will keep you up to date with your childs progress.

Counselling For Adults

Our psychologists specialise in a range of areas from anger to addictions to communication issues, dating and career change. Rather than doing a bit of everything each psychologist has his or her own speciality.

Just read more about our practitioners in the About Us Tab (add link here), or give us a call or to organise your next consultation with your perfect practitioner.
