Mindfulness is a state of being that enables us to be receptive to our experience in each moment. Mindfulness arises through ongoing practice of mindfulness meditation techniques, both formal sitting practice and mindfulness in action. With consistent practice, it will become a habit and you will discover it as something that you are aware of that doesn’t require a lot of effort.
Mindfulness encompasses our relationship to self, our emotions, our relationship with others, and our place in the world. My experience with mindfulness has led to deep self-compassion and non-judgement. The ability to sit with true presence, with open curiosity, whilst the mind does its thing, and still remain in a loving attitude towards yourself, is an amazing benefit of being mindful.
