With a strong background in communication, personal development and teaching, you're in capable hands with Cath, your caring Counsellor and Life coach. Tertiary qualified, she has enjoyed a fullfiling career of  wholistic systems research and application; training, coaching, and mentoring for both personal and business development, and secondary and tertiary teaching. 

She has been awarded Instructor of the Year and the Best Student Award many times.

Master Steven Sarath Teh Natakuapa created the Teh Nei Chia Chuan Health, Meditation, Breathing, Qi Gong, Massage, Tai Chi, Nei Kung and Kung Fu style in 1984. It has been continuously improved and refined since then, under his key principles.

As a Grandmaster of the highest-ranking and an internationally recognized Martial Arts Scientist, Master Steven has been teaching the esoteric, unique style of his own creation to a few lucky students for several decades.

He teaches at the Royal International Teh Nei Chia Chuan Health, Tai Chi and Kung Fu School, which is internationally recognised.

As a student at the Forgedale Training Centre,  you'll receive Teh Nei Chia Chuan training from a fully qualified Senior Instructor.

Counselling and Life Coaching

In counselling, sometimes we just need someone to listen to us, and other times we might need someone to ask us poignant questions so that we may find our own unique answers.

The purpose of life coaching is to help you achieve what you desire for yourself. This might help you realise what you want for yourself. 

During the session, you can gain insight into your strengths and weaknesses, develop your skillset, and discover how to create and develop your preferred way of being.

Qi Gong or Motion of Feeling ©

Known as Motion of Feeling ©, this form of Qi Gong has long been tested by Master and his many students throughout the years.

There are breathing techniques and internal motions led by the mind, done in specific patterns, and for anatomical targeting or for pain reduction or health improvement. 

The exercises will assist in the cultivation and emission of chi for health and wellness, levitation and effort, calmness, bliss, euphoria, and martial arts applications.

Meditation 

While some may not realise it, meditation has various forms. You may meditate in various natural postures (lying, standing, sitting) and later incorporate it into stationery or moving forms. 

A focused approach and personalisation options for guided meditation are also deliberately incorporated, allowing individuals to customise their own way of meditating.

Meditation may also be used for work and recreational activities to improve performance. Benefits include lucidity, creativity, enhanced health, stress relief, and euphoric or calming states.

Nei Kung

Known as Nei Kung, Master Steve’s series of conditioning exercise brackets are done as meditation.

Master Steve calls Nei Kung the ABC of Kung Fu, as it comprises of good posture, axial and convoluted motion, as well as formwork that later form part of Kung Fu’s moving forms.

Breathing Enhancement

Breathing is the absolute initiator form in the Teh Nei Chia Chuan style, for without it we quickly die.

It is erroneously taken for granted that most people will breathe correctly without being taught.

There is much to learn on this subject.

Breathing can be inefficient due to lack of knowledge and attention, disease and bad habits.

The way to better health and performance is through better breathing.
Breathing is also integral to chi cultivation, retention and emission.

With breath, we live and with highly effective breathing we can enhance our lung capacity and correct or at least improve respiratory troubles. We can increase the oxygen in our bodies which improve most disease. Fear, stress, anxiety and depression can all be relieved or better managed through breathing techniques.

It all starts with breathing. There is one main breathing form taught, which Master calls Reverse breathing. Then there are other breathing forms for various martial and health contexts.

Breathing skills synergistically improve with synchronisation with chi flow and physical action. Higher level students may like to revisit this part of the curriculum to improve their chi management and enhance their action based forms.

Those with other recreational pursuits and those engaged in physical work can enhance their performance by learning improved breathing techniques and how to synchronise and time their breathing. Likewise, recovery times from such exertions can be greatly improved.

An absolute beginner would understandably be drawn to this basic foundation skill. It is a very good place to start training.

Tai Chi Forms

Both the short and long tai chi forms are moving meditation forms. Most people, including myself, begin this journey, thinking the tai chi form is all there is to know about Tai Chi. Like me, you will learn it is but one part of a complex system.

Though, if you prefer to just learn the tai chi short or long-form, we can accommodate that request. If there is one key skill to learn, it would be the Qi Gong, or Motion of Feeling, not the Tai Chi Form.

Master is quick to distinguish his style from the ‘wave your hands around in the park’ styles of tai chi. There is immense detail and finesse to master, and no endpoint, even for a supreme tai chi master. Tai chi by definition is a never-ending pursuit.  It is continuous improvement.

It is continuous improvement. In Teh Nei Chia Chuan style, we also include applications of push hand and sticky hand brackets, which naturally, flow into Kung Fu applications.

Those familiar with Tai Chi styles will note Master’s tai chi forms are unique, yet will see Yang style influence.

Tai Chi Sword Form

Tai Chi Sword Form is another form of moving meditation, though the execution is more energised and spirited than the Tai Chi Forms. We also train in drill-like brackets to improve sword handling skills.

There is also an application bracket we teach so you may know how to respond to a sword attack.

Though unlikely to be attacked in the 21st century, it is not so unlikely to be attacked by a long item like pipe or piece of timber, so it is useful defence knowledge against what would otherwise be an alarming confrontation.

Practice swords are supplied for the first three months only. They must be left at the training centre.
