Myotherapy

Myotherapy is the assessment, treatment and management of musculoskeletal conditions, which may cause muscular dysfunction and pain thus affecting movement and mobility.

Myotherapists employ a range of treatment techniques to restore and maintain the normal integrity of the soft tissue structures (muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia).

Myotherapy treatments commence with thorough history taking followed by various muscle, joint and neurological tests. Combined with manual palpation of muscles and joints, the aim is to identify the cause of the pain to provide quick, effective and long lasting results.

Massage

Remedial massage

Remedial massage is the systematic assessment and treatment of the muscles, tendons, ligaments and connective tissues of the body to assist in rehabilitation, pain and injury management. It’s performed to create favourable conditions for the body to return to normal health after injury and is based on the premise that the treatment can reasonably reverse certain physical effects a patient may be presenting.

Relaxation massage

Relaxation massage feels great and most importantly, is relaxing and invigorating at the same time. It is ideal for reducing stress from your busy life, both emotionally and physically. This type of massage is also perfect as a regular program for stress management.

Pregnancy massage

Pregnancy massage can commence during 1st Trimester and have overwhelming benefits that include; reduced swelling, insomnia, muscle cramps and most common back pain (sciatic). It’s time for mums-to-be, to be nurtured!

Please note: A massage therapist must have knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology to determine where to treat patients. Our services are based on best practice principles and before any massage treatment begins, a thorough patient consultation and assessment is to be performed to ascertain the patient’s current health status. This is not only a legal requirement, but allows the therapist to create the most effective treatment plan possible. This also applies to relaxation massage.
