Remedial Massage

Remedial massage is the systematic assessment and the treatment of the tendons, ligaments and connective tissues of the body to help in injury and pain management as well as rehabilitation. If a client is experiencing a moderate injury which has referred structural pain and/or loss of function, then a remedial massage is required to eliminate or reduce pain and restore that function.

Remedial massage is specifically designed to balance soft tissue/muscle length, tension and tone which will then in turn promote the return of normal joint/capsular/bone position: enhance the flow of lymph and blood, specifically in the affected areas, this removing damaged cells, blockages, scar tissue and adhesions as a result of the injury.

Pregnancy Massage

Pregnancy massage helps with the tensions and the pains experienced throughout pregnancy. These are often caused by the extra weight and shift in the centre of gravity. There are a number of physical benefits to receiving a pregnancy massage, in addition to the emotional nurturing that is provided by the practitioner.

Massage reduces peripheral swelling, also soothes the nervous system, helps with the side effects of insomnia, back pain and muscle cramps. A specially designed pregnancy mattress is used throughout the treatment to ensure comfort for expecting mothers.
