Pamela Nish

My role as a professional health practitioner is to provide Therapeutic Reflexology Treatments & Massage Treatments to help clients achieve better health naturally.

To work alongside and to enhance their existing medical treatments.

I practice a holistic approach to my work and also like to share effective self-help skills to empower clients to assist with their healing processes.

My focus is to be proactive to encourage clients to enjoy the responsibility of looking after their health and to experience the benefits of regular Reflexology Treatments. I practice in my clinic as well as attending homes for those unable to get to my clinic. I also give treatments at Retirement Villages in the comfort of the clients own home

What is a Reflexologist's role within the Integrated Health Care System?

  • Reflexology is a complementary therapy rather than an alternative therapy and works in conjunction with other medical treatments and integrative therapies.

  • Reflexologists are trained to specifically work on reflexes suited to the individual client. Addressing specific reflexes can promote faster activation of homeostasis within the body.

  • Professional Reflexologists not only train in Reflexology but other areas such as Anatomy & Physiology,

  • Lymphatic Drainage, Body Systems, MuscloSkeletal Anatomy, Cross Fibre Mobilisation before they can gain professional qualifications.

  • A Reflexologist will at all times look for contraindications and will STOP treatment if necessary.

  • Reflexologists are not Doctors and do not interfere with medications, nor do they diagnose specific conditions.
Professional Reflexologists are bound by a Code of Ethics set up by our professional body - Reflexology Association of Australia (RAoA).

  • Professional Reflexology treatments also qualify for Health Fund Rebates ( check with your Health Fund)

  • Reflexologists can provide treatment plans for your specific needs providing every chance of ensuring your health is maintained in a balanced state, maximising your mobility and function.

  • Reflexology is not a cure but can help ease symptoms of a number of medical conditions. ( see Articles page for more).

  • All practising Professional Reflexologists should have proven qualifications and be registered with a professional organisation such as RAoA.

  • Reflexology is backed up by scientific evidence.

My Focus with my Practice is in the following areas:

  • Pain Management - Sciatica, Arthritis, Spinal Pain Relief, Neck/Shoulder Pain. Enhanced healing following surgery.

  • Lymphatic Drainage & Circulation - not only for Cancer clients but also others such as Post Polio Syndrome, Swollen ankles. Lymphatic flow and blood supply are improved.

  • Dementia & Palliative Care - constipation, digestive issues, circulation, assisting with mobility and enhancing comfort and quality of life.

  • Digestive Problems - constipation, diarrhoea, diverticultitis, IBS, gallstones.

  • Hormonal Problems - PMS, Endocrine Balance, menstrual pain.

  • Anxiety & Depression - including Post Natal Depression. Promotes balance in physical, mental, emotional and energetic levels of the body.

  • Infant Reflexology - Colic, Sleepless baby, Coughs, Asthma, Teething.

  • Maternity Reflexology - regular sessions help with backache, morning sickness, swollen ankles and legs, constipation, fatigue, cramps and shorter labours.

As a professional member of Reflexology Association of Australia (RAoA) I regularly attend conferences and educational courses, to keep updated in the latest techniques and findings.

I am available to speak with you about any aspect of my work and an seeking to develop supportive professional relationships with my clients.

Reflexology

A step in the right direction for health and balance.

Reflexology is a holistic, non invasive modality which complements other therapies and modern medicine from conception to aged care.

Reflexology is the application of pressure and soothing techniques to the areas of feet, hands, face and ears. Amputees may also benefit from Reflexology.

How does It work?

Reflexology stimulates the circulation to restore energy flow which helps clear blockages which may have occurred due to stress, toxins, illness, emotions and injury.

Reflexology has been a part of human life for over 3000 years and is once again becoming part of health care systems around the world.

The Proven Benefits of Reflexology are:

  • Reduces stress

  • Balances the nervous system

  • Boosts lymphatic function

  • Improves circulation

  • Detoxifies the body

  • Enhances the body's natural healing process

  • Balances all body systems
