About Rhodes Podiatry

What is a podiatrist?

Podiatrists are highly skilled professionals trained to deal with the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of medical and surgical conditions of the feet and lower limbs. Podiatrists are university educated and are continually upgrading their skills and knowledge through further training and education. Regular visits to your podiatrist can help prevent or treat foot problems, alleviate pain and help keep you on your feet.

Why do feet need specialist care?

Feet are very complex, as they house a quarter of the bones in the body. Moreover, the feet comprise of a network of muscles, ligaments and joints, which play an integral part in keeping you mobile. Our feet are often the most neglected and forgotten parts of our bodies, which increase their vulnerability to injury and disease. As our feet are our main mode of transport it is imperative to take care of them, as they cannot be replaced like a pair of shoes. Each person's feet are individual and therefore, require specialised care.
