Shiatsu (meaning finger pressure) is a Japanese technique with origins in Traditional Chinese Medicine. When we feel pain and inflexibility in the body it’s generally because energy and blood flow have become blocked.
A Shiatsu treatment involves body stretching and a combination of thumb, palm, knee and elbow pressure to unblock energy and blood flow which restores balance and relaxation to the body.
The treatment can be very gentle or quite robust depending on your needs and condition.
Sessions include comprehensive diagnosis and body work and are performed on a futon through your clothes.
This massage uses techniques of soft tissue manipulation and gentle stretching. I start gently to calm the nervous system, and begin to release superficial tightness. Gradually I will work more deeply into the tissues to release more deep seated tension and stress.
Relax on the massage table as healing oils are used to sooth your aches and pains. The flowing style relaxes and calms, gently soothing the mind and body.
Swedish massage will release chronic tension and pain in the muscles, improve circulation, increase flexibility in the joints, reduce mental and physical fatigue and effectively combat stress
