Traditional Malay Abdominal Binding

For more than hundreds of years, a typical Malay abdominal binding system was used. Such therapy is an ideal way to help a new mother embrace her, heal and rehabilitate her body. Mel strengthens the knowledge of the body of a woman to protect her integrity by this conventional strategy.

Traditional Malay Binding's conventional approach is based on an herbal mask and herbal compress with ancient postnatal treatments developed by timeless rituals to assist the body to heal during birth.

Treatment should be carried out within 2-4 weeks of natural birth and 6-8 weeks of postpartum C-section.

Closing of the Bones Ceremony

Many cultures around the world realise that a new mother's insecurity and the need to look after her and to be nurtured to heal from her birth. Most postpartum rituals provide food, a time of sanctuary and some kind of bodywork procedure, including massage or either a binding with cloth, helping the new mother recover her power and her vitality.

These are so modern and inclusive traditions that we hope that one day many people across the world can learn about and begin to embrace this lovely and significant rite after birth.

In addition to the physical component of bone-closure, the therapy has a spiritual dimension that provides a safe environment/ritual in which the mother feels nurtured, respected and praised.   This procedure is a sacred ritual for the release of feelings related to your conception, pregnancy, and losses.
