What is Naturopathy?
Naturopathy is both an ancient traditional and evidence-based approach to human health which aims to heal the whole person in mind, body and spirit and not just the symptoms of poor health, illness and disease.

The holistic or whole person approach of naturopathy recognizes that the body has an innate intelligence which has the ability to heal the whole person, given the right conditions and care.

Why see a Naturopath?

A Naturopath understands that the body’s intelligent innate healing mechanism can be activated with the use of correct diet, plenty of exercise, natural therapies, practices such as yoga, meditation and body therapies, all of which improve and aid the body’s ability to eliminate, detoxify, reduce, repair, rejuvenate, nourish, hydrate and heal. With this in mind, a naturopath will help you determine what it is that you need to be doing to support your own healing and health.

Common Conditions that people come to see a naturopath for include digestive and bowel complaints, musculoskeletal and arthritic pain, allergies, sinusitis, coughs and colds, menstrual irregularities and hormonal imbalances, PCOS, infertility, emotional stress, anxiety and depression, weight management, fatigue and some skin conditions.

Natural Healing Modalities such as Herbal Medicine, Homeopathy, Nutrition and Mineral Therapy are often prescribed as required while dietary, lifestyle advice and bodywork therapies are often also recommended to complement naturopathic treatment. Often, one or more of these modalities are required to help stimulate the body’s innate healing force to return and maintain equilibrium, bringing balance and harmony to the mind, body and spirit.

Mind Body & Massage Therapies

There now exists a more comprehensive understanding of the connection that exists between the body and the mind and the impact that one has on the other. Everything that we are thinking has an impact on our bodies and often what is happening in our minds and bodies can direct us to understanding the path of healing we need to follow. Our inner pain, often deep within the soul brings us dis-ease, we therefore need to begin to look within and use our pain to heal ourselves and our situation. Mind Body therapies help us to understand further our emotional links to our illnesses and pains that can then help us raise our consciousness, awareness and wisdom. Mind Body therapies encourage a deeper understanding of ourselves and our experiences, often leading to a better understanding of why we need to do what we need to do to heal on our own unique journey.

The gentle weight and heat of the stones increases cellular activity which stimulates the circulation and lymphatic system, aiding in detoxification and decongestion and helping to remove metabolic waste. BOWEN WORK:

An extremely gentle form of bodywork where subtle moves are performed over muscles and fascia, that which will assist the body in correcting its posture, balance and re-alignment. Useful in acute and chronic health issues and is also suitable for babies, children, pregnant women and the elderly. Treatment may be prescribed as an adjunct to Naturopathic Treatment to enhance the holistic healing process.

MIND BODY BOWEN BALANCE & RELEASE:

“Some pain knows no release”- Long term physical, mental and emotional stress often results in stored tension in the body, often locked in the nervous system as frozen residues of energy. Unresolved, unexpressed or unreleased pain and tension which has been denied full expression can often wreak havoc in the body and mind, manifesting as painful physical, mental or emotional symptoms. This residue release technique uses gentle fascia release techniques based on Bowen Therapy principles to bring attention to internal body sensations. As sensations are felt, frozen or unreleased energy that has been held in check by the body is unbound and released, so that healing may take place. This is an advanced healing technique that would not be used in a first treatment, and is only available on recommendation by myself and performed in conjunction with supporting naturopathic treatments.

CRYSTAL THERAPY:

Using crystals specifically located around and on the body, this treatment opens and balance the body’s energy centres, releasing and clear stagnant, congested and blocked energy around the body and in the aura. Crystals can also be combined with a massage treatment.

VOICE DIALOGUE:

This dialogue technique works with archetypal energy patterns or selves within, to help gain a deeper insight into current emotional and physical blocks within our life and why we are stuck in a pattern of behaviour or thinking. .
