Sarah Woolner | Naturopath
Sarah is a naturopathic practitioner with a special interest in the management of allergies, hay fever, asthma and skin conditions.
Those of us that suffer from hay fever and allergies know all too well how these symptoms can wreak havoc with your day-to-day life. Allergic diseases occur when your immune system overreacts to environmental triggers such as pollen, grass, moulds, pet dander, dust mites and even some foods. This overzealous response from our immune cells causes inflammation, irritation and the excessive production of mucous.
Some common allergic conditions include:
- hay fever (allergic rhinitis)
- allergic asthma
- hives (urticaria)
- eczema (atopic dermatitis)
- food allergies
- insect/bite allergies
The state of the immune system — either when it is too responsive or not enough — provides an indication of how other systems in the body are functioning, particularly digestion and elimination.
Having suffered from allergies, hay fever and asthma herself, Sarah understands the importance of getting the symptoms under control and preventing flare-ups. Sarah takes a holistic and individualised approach to each and every case, using food as nutrition, herbal medicine and nutritional supplements if needed.
Together, we can identify the underlying triggers and incorporate practical strategies to rebalance your immune system, so that you can better manage your allergy symptoms.
After completing her first degree, Sarah spent two years backpacking around the globe. On returning to Australia, she decided to further her qualifications to become a naturopath. As a practitioner, Sarah combines her love of science, microbiology and the human immune system with a holistic naturopathic approach to help you become a healthier (and less allergic) version of yourself.
Making small yet significant changes to your diet and lifestyle, however simple they may be, collectively can make a huge difference to your health and wellbeing.
