Alia is an highly experienced and qualified practitioner. She is a highly skilled acupuncturist, naturopath, nutritionist, personal trainer and remedial therapist. Alia has been practising since 1998 and has been very successful in the integrating of a traditional Chinese medicinal approach into a naturopathic model. She always uses tongue and pulse diagnosis in consultations and any other relevant diagnostic techniques to evaluate a persons health status. She then provides the most appropriate treatment protocol according to the clients needs.
Shen Clinic & Apothecary was established in 2002 when Alia returned home to Tasmania. Alia previously trained and worked in South Australia where she was awarded the SA Vocational Student of the Year in 2000 and the Honours Postgraduate award Excellence in Professional Practise in 1999. In 2004, Alia was also regular panellist on the ABC TV program Second Opinion.
Alia believes strongly in integrating nutrition and exercise into prescribed wellness plans. She provides a comprehensive biochemical view of the body processes with the aim to educate, motivate and empower clients. Alia is also a qualified Personal trainer, group exercise instructor and Fitgenes practitioner. This form of genetic testing allows for the ethical analysis of an individual's genetic profile.
A consultation and treatment with Alia may involve acupuncture, nutritional analysis and lifestyle and fitness changes. Remedial massage and cupping can also be used to alleviate sore muscles, injury and strains.
Balancing the body physically, emotionally and biochemically are the focus of all treatments.
Shen Clinic & Apothecary is located at Suite 3, on the upper level of the Palfreyman's Arcade, which is on the corner of Burnett and Elizabeth Streets, North Hobart. Ample parking is available, however, please note small parking fees apply. Ramp access is obtained from all entrances. Health rebates are available through private health funds.
