Chiropractic Care During Pregnancy
Chiropractic care during pregnancy is proven to be safe for both the foetus and mother.
Unfortunately, as pregnancy progresses throughout its stages, some of the comforts afforded the foetus can compromise a mother’s spinal integrity. Pregnancy is a dynamic process which involved a variety of stages that take place in a short period of time. These changes mean that pre-pregnancy planning is absolutely integral, proper nutrition, and regular exercise should be priorities for an expecting mother.
Some of the common complaints and issues during pregnancy
- Lower back pain
- Groin pain, otherwise known as osteitis pubis
What are some of the advantages of chiropractic care during Pregnancy?
There have been a number of clinical studies that have revealed that there are significant benefits in regards to chiropractic care before, during, and after pregnancy.
Through the reduction of spinal joint dysfunction your chiropractic practitioner will allow you to stay active throughout your pregnancy. It is now known that during a normal uncomplicated pregnancy, there is no need to restrict vigorous low impact activities (stretching, walking, swimming). In fact, it has been shown that keeping active during pregnancy has both short and long term positive implications for your baby.
