Reflexology relieves pain & congestion by bringing about homeostasis (balance) for the client by facilitating the free flow of energy including improved circulation and nerve innovation throughout the body.
Reflexology is an extremely gentle and relaxing therapy that uses precision thumb and finger techniques on reflex points in the feet and hands that correspond to the parts of the body. It relieves stress and tension, promotes relaxation and facilitates wellbeing.
Reflexology is a gentle holistic therapy based on the ancient principle that there are reflex areas in the hands and feet that correspond to all of the organs, glands and parts of the body.
Reflexology facilitates your own body's ability to actually heal itself.
Reflexology is beneficial for all ages. Illness and dis-ease are addressed at the source rather than by symptom.
Reflexology has assisted the following conditions:
- Reproductive Disorders eg Fertility, Menopause, PMS, PCOS
- Endocrine Disorders eg CFS, Hormonal Problems
- Nervous Disorders eg epilepsy, insomnia, migraine
- Respiratory Disorders eg asthma, hayfever, sinusitis
- Cardiovascular Disorders eg anaemia, hypertension, hypotension
- Skeletal Disorders eg arthritis, bunion, gout, whiplash
- Muscular Disorders eg cramps, spasms, sprains
- Lymphatic Disorders eg oedema, infections
- Sensory Disorders eg acne, eczema, psoriasis, lupus
- Digestive Disorders eg Chron's Disease, Ulcer
- Urinary Disorders eg Nephritis, Bed Wetting
- Other eg Fatigue, Cold & or Sweaty, Fainting, Fever, General wellbeing
As a precautionary note, DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a contraindication to reflexology and permission must be sought from a medical doctor prior to treatment by a reflexologist.
"Sub-Fertility" is a growing phenomenon in today's society. At present, 1 in 5 couples are seeking some means of reproductive assistance largely via IVF/ ART to help improve their chances of conception.
Many couples find that combining their treatments with some form of non-invasive complimentary therapy such as Reflexology can be of significant benefit. Reflexology treatments can be scheduled for maximum benefit at times of egg collection/ transfer during IVF cycles. As Reflexology aims to bring the body into it's own balance, it has the added benefit of helping to reduce anxiety and tension commonly associated with IVF procedures.
PREGNANCY / MATERNITY REFLEXOLOGY
The pregnant body undergoes a myriad of changes to cater for the growing baby. Every body system is affected and so for the health of an expectant mother and her baby steps are taken to ensure everything is kept in balance.
Pregnancy is a time when you and your baby need to be nurtured and cherished.
Reflexology can help with pregnancy-related conditions including:
- Poor circulation
- Swollen ankles (oedema)
- Symphysis pubis discomfort
- High or low blood pressure
- Anxiety and other pregnanc related issues.
Treatments are especially useful towards the end of pregnancy in preparation for birth. Overdue dates and stalled labour can prove to be anxious times. By relaxing mother and baby, and by stimulating particular reflexes, labour often continues naturally.
"Research has also shown that women who have regular reflexology treatments during pregnancy have far shorter labours than those who don't" (Reflexology Association of Australia Ltd www.reflexology.org.au).
Baby reflexology is a specialised form of reflexology available to assist with baby's needs, by addressing the following concerns:
- Calming & Soothing
- Colic Relief (wind, constipation)
- Strengthen Immune system
- General Well-being
- Strenghten mother-baby bond
Parental Reflexology Training is another service which is offered to those parents who wish to learn the techniques of Baby Reflexology themselves. Training takes place over 3 weekly sessions of 1 hour. Parental Training is usually best done in small groups of parents with roughly the same aged babies. Basic terminology and techniques are taught to parents to enable them to feel confident enough to apply the principles of Baby Reflexology to their own babies.
This training empowers parents with knowledge and tools to help settle their baby during times of distress or uncertainty. Techniques learned can also be applied to older babies and toddlers, and for regular ongoing maintenance of health and well-being.
Ear Candling is an ancient therapeutic modality that uses hollow tubes known as ‘candles’ to draw from the ear canal and sinuses; impurities, old wax, flaky white fungus and other toxins. Dating back to 2500 BC, cultures including the Egyptian, Chinese, Tibetan, Aztec, Mayan and American Indians understood and practiced the wonderful health benefits of ear candling.
The accumulation drawn from the ears may be months or even years old. Ear candling has been used to successfully treat many conditions including:
- Ear Infections
- TMJ Dysfunction
- Excessive Ear Wax
- Ringing in the ears (Tinnitus)
- Hearing Challenges
- Inner Ear Pressure
- Chronic Sinusitis
- Imbalance/ Vertigo
- Ear Aches & Pains
- Regulation of ear pressure
- Improved lymphatic circulation
THE LISTENING PROGRAM ("TLP")
By improving Brain Function, we improve a person's ability to engage in the meaningful activities of daily life; work, communication, creativity, play, athletics, self care, and social engagement.
Whether concerned with the developing brain of an infant, a pre-schooler learning to read, a child attending school, a teenager preparing for tertiary education, an adult balancing a career and family, or older members of our society striving to preserve their brain health and longevity, all will benefit from engaging their brain with the right stimulation.
Brain plasticity is the brain's natural ability to adapt and change itself. Neuroscientists have recently discovered that tonotopic maps of the brain are not as fixed as previously thought, and meaningful change can be brought about by exposing a person's auditory system to particular frequencies via psychoacoustically modified music.
There are different functions associated with hearing. Hearing is passive whilst listening is active, and auditory processing is the brain's dynamic ability to properly process and interpret that which the listener 'hears'. If there are deficits in the brain's ability to 'hear', then there will be deficits in a person's ability to function.
When auditory perception is distorted, whether through illness, injury, developmental or other challenges, auditory processing problems can lead to academic, emotional, cognitive and social challenges, including problems with the following:
- Attention and concentration
- Speech and language
- Social skills
- Sensory integration
- Self regulation
- Physical balance and coordination
- Vocal performance and musical ability
A brief summary of the Tomatis Frequency Zones follows:
Zone 1 ~ Sensory Integration : 0 - 750 Hz
- ~ Balance
~ Muscle Tone
~ Body Awareness
~ Sense of Direction
~ Right / Left Discrimination
- ~ Memory
~ Vocal Control eg singing
- ~ Energy
~ Improved Speaking
~ Auditory Cohesion
The beauty of this program is that it is simple, effective, individualised, and takes no more than 30 minutes per day, 5 days per week. Maximum program time is approx. 24 weeks. Equipment required is purchased outright by the client and used at home, meaning that immediate family members can utilise the same equipment going forward without any additional expense other than a tailored program plan for each individual.

Metamorphosis regards the foot as a symbol upon which each Soul's pre-natal time-line is mapped. The basic premise of Metamorphosis is that healing is approached from the inside out, as opposed to the outside in. By addressing the life-force along this time-line, blockages can be released which can forever change a person on many levels including the physical, mental, emotional and behavioural.
Blockages in this respect are our karmic blue-print, and are what limit us on a sub-conscious and un-conscious level. They are the things we bring into this lifetime with us from pre-conception, through gestation, and right up to the time of our birth. There are different levels of blockages, some chosen by us and some that we inherit through our parents' experiences.
Whilst blockages manifest in a variety of ways, the point upon which they appear on an individual's time-line will determine which kind of blockages they are. In summary, blockages can be afferent or efferent.
Examples of such blockages are:
- ~ Mental Illness
~ Bi-Polar Disorder
- ~ Eczema
Metamorphosis is not comparable to any other complimentary therapy, simply by virtue of it's premise to work from the inside-out. It is unobtrusive and extremely interesting, but must stand alone since working from the inside out is almost a contraindication to working from the outside in. Essentially this requires a client to cease all other therapies for the duration of Metamorphosis work, which will vary in duration depending on each client.

We have been visiting Rachael for about 6 months and cannot speak highly enough about our experience. Rachael is extremely professional and at the same time has created a warm and comforting environment where you can truly relax. The treatment is wonderful – an hour long foot massage in which we quite often drift off to asleep, while at the same time always leave with new and interesting facts about reflexology, our own bodies and ways that we can help ourselves. We would highly recommend Rachael for the ultimate in reflexology. ~ Juliet & Alex, East Burwood
Dear Rachael, I just wanted to let you know how fantastic I think Reflexology is ! I am certainly no stranger to body therapies, having tried various types of massage, rolfing, myotherapy, chiropractic and accupuncture, in an effort to 'feel well'. None of these has had the impact of my first session with you. I returned home tingling all over and that 'buzz' lasted for hours. I am impressed... ~ Kay, Balwyn
Rachael's positive energy and holistic approach to therapy result in treatments which are not just therapeutically beneficial, but are also a wonderfully relaxing and revitalising "time out". I thoroughly enjoy and value my treatments, as much for Rachael's compassionate and sincere personality as for her effective and intrinsic reflexology abilities. ~ Melissa, Ashburton
I had the fortunate experience of being treated by Rachael some time ago. Her expertise and the experience she showed through the whole treatment was second to none. I would have no hesitation recommending her for anyone seeking a Professional alternative therapy treatment. ~ Wayne, Port Melbourne
I have had the pleasure of having sessions with Rachael over the years and I have found them to be very valuable indeed. Her approach is both caring and professional and I felt deeply relaxed and energized. I am very happy to recommend her to anyone looking for healing on any level. ~ Jenny Kovess, Jenny's Natural Healing and Counselling.
I had never had reflexology before and when I was fortunate to have a treatment by Rachael I was in total awe of how relaxing it was. In fact the first few times I fell asleep while she did her magic on me. I highly recommend the treatment but I truly recommend Rachael as your therapist. ~ Sonia, Doncaster.
I look forward to my sessions with Rachael after a hectic weeks of running around. She has a way of relaxing ones body and mind to the point of pure bliss. One leaves her premises feeling totally relaxed, peaceful and wonderful. I, for one, wish each session would never end. I highly recommend Rachael...she's a very caring, compassionate and understanding human being and practitioner, allowing one to completely feel at ease. ~ Vicky, Camberwell
I had never had such a relaxing experience until Rachael did my feet. She was able to pinpoint some medical problems, of which she had no prior knowledge. Both professional and friendly, Rachael put me at ease immediately and I would have no hesitation to recommend her services. Thank you Rachael. ~ Anne, Vermont
