Osteopathy

teopathy is a widely recognised modern day manual therapy. Treatment techniques have been devised to address musculoskeletal and associated functional disorders of the body.

When to visit

Patients visit us for immediate and ongoing relief of back pain, headaches and joint injuries (scroll down for more ailments).

What makes us different

Osteopaths are primary care practitioners and take time to identify and assess all your problem areas. Patients are treated with an array of gentle hands-on techniques such as massage and manipulation that have been developed since the late 1800s.

We are commonly referred to as holistic therapists because we look at the bigger picture and address those factors that may have led to the original injury.

How we’re trained

Osteopathic medicine is a 5 year university course that emphasises a modern evidence-based approach to musculoskeletal issues such as back, neck and shoulder pain.

Pilates

Pilates is one of the most effective exercise regimes for your core stability and balance. It’s suitable for anyone and has positive effects on your posture and movement. Use pilates as a gentle alternative to develop your strength and endurance, to control pain or to assist your current training program.

How Pilates works

Pilates exercises develop the deep stabilising muscles adjacent to your spine by using spring loaded resistance to carry out controlled arm, leg and spinal movements.

The studio

We have two modern reformer beds and a trapeze table in our cosy studio space. Full length mirrors, polished floorboards, plenty of light and heating and cooling make it a special space to do your pilates workout.

About us

At East St Kilda Sports & Spinal Clinic we’re experienced pilates practitioners who are up to date with current research into spinal stability for safe training and injury management. Our background in osteopathy gives us expert skills in musculoskeletal rehabilitation and correction of movement dysfunction.

Supervised Sessions

We conduct tailored studio sessions for individuals and small groups. An initial assessment is required to analyse movement patterns and posture and to investigate any current or previous injuries.

We offer 30, 45 and 60 minute sessions that suit all ages and levels. Please click here for details on pricing and availability.

Go on, give it a try!
