Most cultures have a history of using plants medicinally and this continues today. It provides a safe and effective way of treating not only the symptoms but the underlying cause of disease.

Herbs contain a large number of naturally occurring chemicals that have biological activity and can produce a profound transformation in health without side effects common in drug based medicine.
Whilst they may not always taste great herbs strive to calm what is overactive and nourish what is depleted therefore providing balance to the body.

Herbs can be taken as a liquid, specifically formulated for each person. They can also be taken in tablet form for convenience sake as well as in the gentle form of herbal teas.

The conditions that herbs can support are many and varied

  • Skin conditions
  • Digestive disturbances
  • Adrenal fatigue / insomnia
  • Nervous system imbalances / migraine
  • Mood imbalances depression / anxiety
  • Womens health issues menopause / fertility / PMT
  • Hormonal imbalances thyroid issues / blood sugar disturbance
  • Immunity issues hay fever / sinusitis / recurrent colds & flu / auto immunity

SOME of MY FAVOURITE HERBS

Golden Seal (Hydrastis canadensis)
This wonderful Native American Indian herb has been used for centuries as a cure- all. It has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and anti-catarrhal properties as well as being the best mucous membrane tonic and restorative. I use it for chronic sinus complaints and any inflammation of the gut or respiratory tract.

Licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra)
This is the actual licorice not something you would find in a lolly shop. The root of this herb is used and its sweet taste comes from glycyrrhizin which is 50 x sweeter than sugar. I use this great herb to flavor some of the not so good tasting ones but also for adrenal fatigue, any upper respiratory problems and for constipation.

Motherwort (Leonurus cardiaca)
The leaves are used of this herb to help support cardiovascular health as well as being a superb tonic for post menopausal women with any anxiety or palpations.

Oats (Avena sativa)
This is actually oats that you may have for your porridge but in an extracted form. They are also a fabulous for calming an over wrought nervous system.

Dandelion (Taraxcum officinale)
This herb can be taken as a tea there are many brands in the health food stores and supermarkets. It is wonderful for fluid excess and aslo supporting the liver.

A Herbal Mix may be pescribed as part of the whole consultation and be made up specially for you, so that your issues are specifically targeted.
