My positive change in life started when I decided to start my diploma in Counselling. I had been contemplating what my next step in life would be as I felt a lack of direction. I wanted to study and further develop my skills and the Counselling diploma was the right solution for me. With renewed energy and focus I have started my positive change in life!

I am Merel Purmer and I am a counsellor and art therapist. I work with children, adolescents and adults, helping them create their positive change in life! I have always had a passion for supporting people finding opportunities to grow and develop new skills.

At this moment you may have specific concerns in your life you wish to seek assistance for such as life transitions, personal growth, grief and loss, loneliness, separation issues or others. Or you might be looking for support for your child for anxiety, bullying, family separation, low self-esteem, social skill development or others.

The counselling and art therapy services of The Art of Expression will provide you with a safe, comfortable, confidential and supportive place where you can openly share your personal thoughts, feelings and concerns.

The Art of Expression gives you the opportunity to express yourself in a way you feel most comfortable with, whether that would be through the art therapy silent sessions or through the counselling talking sessions.
