The breath in all its forms is the one natural thing we always have with us - it sustains us - and when we are in pain or in fear, worried or feeling anything difficult, our breath changes. We tend to hold, shorteN or keep it shallow and hard to grasp. In doing so the body and brain feel starved and the natural flow of the life energy throughout the body is hampered. We can become lethargic, anxious and depressed.
Breathwork also known as breath therapy, rebirthing, circular breathing or conscious connected breathing, is a therapeutic practice which can bring about profound states of relaxation; releasing layers of physical and emotional tension and trauma.

During a breathwork session the increased life force energy which is activated throughout your body will bring a profound sense of a deeper connection with your true nature. You can experience heightened awareness and peace and a resolving of issues from the past which have been weighing you down and depriving you of your natural joy, energy and sense direction.

People seek sessions in breathwork for many reasons and can experience a wide range of benefits, from improvement in physical pain, tension and injury to healing of emotional trauma and spiritual disconnection. During sessions the body releases patterns of fear and constriction and as a result feelings of anxiety and depression begin to lessen and gradually cease altogether. As a new way of being in the body becomes more familiar, new more life enhancing choices become possible. As the stress of living in constant tension relaxes Breathwork assists with

- Developing a deeper sense of acceptance and presence
A Breathwork session is your time to be supported to truly be with yourself. The session will start with a discussion of what you are wishing to heal or gain insight to. You will then be invited to lie on a comfortable mattress and be guided to breathe in full connected breaths. As you breathe and more oxygen is taken into your body, you will sense areas where you normally hold tension come into your awareness. As your sitter, I will also be able to observe, support and guide you in your breathing.
As you continue to breathe, the increased movement of life energy will bring to the surface of your conscious mind specific thoughts, beliefs, feelings, and various past experiences that are blocking you from breathing easy and living your full potential. You will move into a deeper sense of your authentic feelings which in the early sessions may be ones of painful memory, but as these memories are resolved you will experience a growing sense of ease and rightness in your own body.
2 hours are provided for each session and it is advisable to initially have 10 sessions on a weekly or fortnightly basis for full benefit. After this people often wish to continue their Breathwork journey, attending sessions regularly but perhaps with less frequency.
