Rosacea is an acne-like eruption that is confined to the face. It is associated with skin flushing or blushing on the cheeks. Rosacea can extend to the nose, forehead, chin and even ears and neck. Rosacea occurs in women and men. The skin can show lumps and bumps with a thickening of the skin and sometimes red capillaries are seen. Rosacea is best treated holistically. Linda has many years experience treating Rosacea successfully in men and women of all ages, usually over 30 years.

Linda Parker N.D. The Skin Naturopath, has been treating Rosacea successfully for over 25 years. Linda also has her own natural Rosacea cream and face wash. However rosacea is best treated internally and ascertaining the cause on an individual basis.

Rosacea is a stubborn (and can be embarrasing) skin condition that can come and go, however once the cause is established, and treated, the Rosacea will disappear.

Rosacea is more common in women than men (3:1), however it presents more severely in men.

The age group Rosacea usually appears is between 30 - 50 years.

Rosacea can be mult-factorial and treatment consists of establishing the cause through functional tests.

There are lots of triggers to Rosacea (these are not causes):

  • Alcohol
  • Spicy foods such as chilli
  • Tea, Coffee, Sugar
  • Stress
  • Direct sun and heat
  • Chlorine
  • MSG and other preservatives

Cortisone steroid or antibiotic creams are a short-term fix....not the solution. Cortisone in fact can make Rosacea worse with its harmful side effects on the skin.
