Time To Relax
Picture Right - Petrea King calls in for a series of treatments.
Back ache, sore neck, head aches, just so so tired???
Aches and pains in places and you can't work out why?
Had a traumatic incident and never been the same since?
Come and see me. I have a Diploma in TCM remedial massage, am a Paediatric Massage Consultant, I have completed a number of courses in Kinesiology and Energetic Healing. I am a Meditation Teacher, an Angelic Reiki and Seichim Practitioner and I have recently travelled to China where I studied Traditional Chinese Massage at Shanghai Hospital and University.
Also I am a member of ANTA so you will be able to claim a rebate from your health fund.
With all these modilities I take a Wholistic approach, treating the mind body and spirit, not just the body.
is the manual technique or massage side of TCM and has been described as 'acupuncture using thumbs instead of needles'. The therapist works on soft tissue, muscles, joints and also the body's energy known as the Meridian System. It is used to relieve pain, increase flexibility, and balance energy and it feels so good. The pressure can be adjusted from light to very firm. Acupressure is also very effective with clothes on, so if you can't stand taking your clothes off and getting oiled up, acupressure is for you.
Attention – also known as mindfulness. Stillness mediation where one practises in observing rather than thinking.
Intention – also known as imagery. This is where you have a goal to achieve and use imagery to achieve this goal.
Inquiry – also known as contemplative. Where you are seeking answers. I studied at the Gawler Foundation in Melbourne and hold a meditation/spiritual development group once a month. Individual tuition can also be arranged.
When you experience something that upsets, angers or frightens you, it is possible for the body to hold energetic memories of this incident. Hence the term "Pain in the neck/butt" etc. Often the client is not aware that the issue was not completely dealt with. Using muscle testing I can identify the areas where the emotion is stored and help release it.
Is a Kinesiology technique based on Chinese Medicine using muscle testing to identify retained emotions and acu-points for the corrections. It's a gentle effective technique used to release traumatic memories.
Provides a deep tissue massage relaxing massage, using suction cups to lift the muscle rather than push on it. There are different types of cups for this technique, I use the traditional glass and bamboo type as I find them more comfortable for the client. This technique is very effective for detoxing as well as relieving muscle tension.
Has been used for thousands of years - reflex points on the hands, feet are directly linked to specific organs and by massaging these areas or points you can influence organ function, promoting good health and self healing. Particularly good when the effected area cannot be massaged. Eg. After an operation.
Is heat therapy that stimulates cell activity to promote self-healing, increases immunity and is a very safe, gentle treatment. As this treatment requires little or no pressure it is particularly good for arthritis sufferers.
I am a Paediatric Massage Consultant and hold workshops or private tuition on Infant Massage. Parents, grandparents, carers etc. come to learn how to massage their little ones. Valuable from birth to teenage years infant /child massage increases deep sleep, helps infants who suffer with colic and reflux, assists with post natal depression and increases the bond between parent and child. The list of benefits is endless these are just a few. Google it!
