Ajay works with embodied mindfulness, helping you to safely resolve past experiences. Using simple yet powerful tools we can change your limiting beliefs and you can open up to new possibilities. Past experiences and traumas are often held in our bodies and our emotions, as well as our thoughts and beliefs. Through counselling, we can locate your body’s intelligence and, using mindfulness, we can unlock your old beliefs and patterns. Safely bringing painful experiences to resolution, you can open up new horizons. This leads to a sense of freedom and expansion, to new possibilities in life. With twenty+ years training and experience in mindfulness and therapeutic work, Ajay has spent his life diving deeply into meditation and personal growth work. He brings the richness of this background to his counselling practice, offering powerful tools for change. Ajay is an experienced and qualified counsellor and psychotherapist, with a Masters degree in Social Work. He has Medicare recognised status as an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker. Based in Fremantle, Ajay creates a warm safe space to resolve the obstacles to your growth, supporting you to live your life to the full. Ajay incorporates a variety of evidence based approaches including;

Emotions and events can be overwhelming and we can feel stuck and unable to see a way forward. In our counselling session, I will show you some simple yet powerful tools that you can use in daily life to help with challenging situations and emotions. We will also look at your core beliefs, for example “I’m not good enough” or “I’ll never get what I need or want in life” and learn to change them to more useful beliefs. Using simple mindfulness techniques, we can gain a lot of clarity and the ability to harness our emotional responses in a useful way rather than feeling rocked by them. This allows us to move through life more easefully and joyfully.

About Ajay

Ajay Hawkes has more than 20 years of experience and training in mindfulness and mindfulness therapies. Ajay is a qualified psychotherapist and counsellor, holding a Master’s degree in Social Work and has a Medicare recognised status as an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker. Situated in Fremantle, Ajay works in a very supportive way, building a warm safe environment to resolve the issues that may be hindering your growth. He utilises a range of evidence based methodologies throughout his work. Psychoeducation, Strengths based counselling, Acceptance Commitment Therapy (3rd wave CBT) and in depth Mindfulness based psychotherapy. He has found these approaches to be very effective in his own life and with his clients.

Additionally, he is a graduate of a two year specialised training course in the mindfulness based psychotherapy of Hakomi. He has also held the position of Senior Counsellor at a drug and alcohol agency in Perth.
