What is Bowen?

The Bowen Technique was developed by Tom Bowen, an Australian, in the 1950's. It is a system of muscle and connective tissue therapy that is used to treat a variety of conditions. The Bowen practitioner utilizes a series of gentle, precise moves on specific points of the body. It is a gentle, fast, effective and non-invasive technique that can be done through clothing. It produces rapid and lasting relief from pain and discomfort, and is safe to use on anyone, from the newborn through to the aged.

How does Bowen work?

Bowen empowers the body to heal itself. The moves stimulate energy flow, which activates the body's own healing resources. For a body to work effectively and efficiently, all of its aspects must be in balance. The Bowen Technique's simple yet profound moves address the entire system. Benefits extend from the physical right through to the emotional, cognitive and spiritual levels also.
