Services Offered

Remedial Massage

The purpose of a remedial massage is to treat an injury, such as sprains, strains, or degeneration.

Pains, sports injuries, and headaches can be treated with remedial massage.

Some of the techniques used may include deep-tissue massage, trigger-point therapy, myofascial release, cupping, and dry needling.

What happens on your first visit?

Your therapist examines your muscles, ligaments, tendons and posture during the first appointment.

After identifying what is causing your injury or pain, your therapist will work on the affected area with a targeted massage.

How many sessions would you need?

There may be a need for multiple sessions, where your therapist constantly assesses how you’re doing and notes any improvements or deteriorations.

Thus, they can tailor their treatment and maximise your recovery process.

What conditions can remedial massage help treat?
  • Sports injuries
  • Muscle tightness and pain
  • Arthritis
  • Frozen shoulder
  • Tennis elbow
  • Neck and back pain
  • Scoliosis
  • Headaches

Trigger Point Therapy

The term "trigger point" refers to a localised spasm or knot in the muscle fibre that causes pain to radiate to other areas of the body.

As a result of repetitive activity, trigger points form. Although the body can handle a lot of stress, it's not built to repeat the same activity day after day.

A constant feeling of pain, tightness, or spasm is your body's signal to the brain that it needs help.

What can you do to relieve pain caused by trigger points?

You can relieve trigger points with a variety of treatments, including massage therapy.

Massage therapists are trained to understand the connection between muscles and joints and how they affect each other.

By using the referral patterns of trigger points, a massage therapist can trace the point of pain back to the muscle that caused it, find the trigger point in that muscle, and apply direct pressure to relieve the spasm.

It’s crucial to identify which muscle needs to be released first to have effective treatment for subsequent muscles.

Is trigger point therapy painful?

In contrast to relaxing massages, trigger point therapy involves direct pressure on trigger points and can be uncomfortable.

Your therapist needs to know if the level of pressure is tolerable or not, so adjustments can be made.
