About VEPN

Victoria EFT Practitioner’s Network (VEPN) is a group of EFT users and professionals who meet every third Saturday of every month in Glen Waverley, a suburb of Melbourne.

What is the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)?

EFT or tapping is a simple self-help technique that is used as a therapeutic option and a self-help tool for reducing and eliminating emotional and physical discomfort.

Based on the ancient Chinese meridian energy system, EFT is emotional acupuncture without the needles, and it works by the premise that a disruption in the body’s energy system causes all negative emotions.

Theory and Principles of Emotional Freedom Technique

According to Gary Craig, the founder of EFT:

“The cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body’s energy system…”

EFT is based on the discovery that imbalances in the body's energy system affect a person’s psychology profoundly.

Physiological charge results when the body’s energy system is blocked or disrupted.

By tuning into the negative emotion, thought, or feeling while tapping or rubbing key body energy points, the disruption is cleared, allowing the body's energy flow to be restored.

When someone thinks about or is “tuned into” a problem or an emotionally disturbing circumstance, tapping serves to release the blocks that are accessed.

The simple act of tapping on or stimulating the points while focusing on the issue or problem brings relief.

In general, the result is lasting and a person's perceptions (cognitive shifts) about the problem change as a result of applying the methods.

For this reason, it is an ideal personal healing tool for releasing unwanted and/or repressed emotions. This can lead to lasting and significant personal changes.

The EFT Process: How Does It Work?

Tapping on the endpoints of the body's energy meridians while thinking about a specific issue resolves a blockage or disruption. By sending pulses of energy, the body's energy system is rebalanced in relation to that thought or issue.

The brain’s way of processing information changes when the energy is shifted, and as a result, tapping while tuned into the issue can rewire or reroute the brain's negative response.

Using this method, you can release negative emotions, thoughts and feelings such as sadness, fear, anxiety, anger, guilt, shame, hurt, grief, bitterness and more.

This technique is used to reduce anxiety, phobias, and to neutralise unpleasant memories.

Why Would EFT Be Useful?

The EFT technique is regarded as a “universal healing aid,” which means it can improve any human condition, both physical and emotional.

Versatile and simple to learn, the process is completely natural and painless.
