WHY HAVE A PERSONAL TRAINER?
“Isn’t it just common sense?”
“I can get all the information I need online these days”
We hear these kind of things all the time. Some people can achieve great results on their own. However, other people may need help and there is a lot of knowledge and tips that qualified personal trainers are able to pass onto their clients to help them on their road to fitness success.
5 Reasons to try Personal Training
1. You don’t know where to start
Cardio, weights, resistance training, strength and conditioning, flexibility, endurance, diet and nutrition – the list of things to take into consideration when planning your exercise schedule can be overwhelming. A qualified Personal Trainer has the experience and the training to do all this for you – they are able to tailor a program that meets your specific needs. Your trainer knows how far to push you and understands what your body is able to handle and will keep you from sustaining injury while making sure your program is varied and challenging.
2. You need to be Challenged and to stay Motivated
There are so many online tutorials, workshops and classes these days that it is quite possible to work out on your own at home. However a lot of people tend to slack off and/or skip sessions if left to themselves. It’s very hard to slack off if there’s someone standing over you encouraging you to push your limits! Having a trainer who knows where you are in your fitness journey and where you want to go will help with your motivation levels and keep you challenged, excited and pushing to get to that next level. Also if you’ve already paid for the session, you’re very unlikely to skip it so there’s built in motivation right there!
3. You’re pregnant or have just given birth
You may have trained a lot before becoming pregnant however your body goes through so many changes during this time that it’s important to understand exactly what you can and cannot do during the pre and post-natal period. You should make sure your trainer holds qualifications in pre and post-natal training and that he/she works in consultation with your doctor.
4. You are training for a specific event or sport
Have you set yourself a new physical challenge? Running a half marathon? Competing in a Tough Mudder competition? Starting to play a new competitive sport? Getting yourself into physical shape can be a struggle, and we can help get you ready for whatever your new challenge may be. Preparation is essential to avoid injury and to obtain the best possible results. Whether you need strength training, plyometrics, to improve endurance and/or coordination we can help you be at your best and feel invincible when the season/event begins.
5. You’ll gain independence
Even if your goal is to create your own workouts and exercise by yourself, hiring a trainer for a few sessions can be a great way to learn how to exercise. Especially if you want to learn more about your muscles and the specific exercises to target those muscles and how to do these exercises correctly. Just a few sessions can teach you a lot about your body, how it works and how to train it in the most effective way.
