What is counselling?
Sometimes in life you just need someone who can listen to you in an open, active and non judgemental way. Counselling is aimed at clarify the client’s presenting issues, explore possible options, develop and help implement strategies, as well as increase the client’s self-awareness. Counselling sessions are kept confidential.
Different counselling theories have different approaches, but they are all aimed at helping the client achieve their goals. Often more than one counselling approach and healing modality are used in the one counselling session to ensure that the client’s counselling goals are achieved in the shortest and most effective way.
Counselling can help with a range of problems (see list below) and can be used in conjunction with hypnotherapy and psychotherapy to help you achieve your goals.
What does a counselling session involve? A typical counselling session starts with the client explaining their presenting issue, and the counsellor asking questions around the issue and the clients’ feelings. Client and counsellor work together to clearly establish the counselling goals and agree on the number of sessions that they will dedicate to achieving such goals.
The client may be given some simple homework to do before their next counselling session eg. keep a diary of their feelings, observe behaviours, beliefs and patterns, create a list of things that they want to change.

Your first counselling session is 90 minutes long.
Subsequent consultations are 60 minutes long.
