Acupuncture is a traditional and wholistic form of natural healthcare that has been used by millions of people for over 5000 years.
What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is one of the integral aspects of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and is widely recognised across the world. TCM utilises a unique system of viewing the body to assess and understand the ways in which your body may be out of balance due to certain influences causing symptoms such as pain or illness.
What does Acupuncture do?
In TCM energy (qi) flows through the body along specific pathways. When this flow is disrupted your body becomes unwell and imbalanced. Acupuncture uses sterile, fine needles which are gently inserted into certain points along these meridians, looking to regulate the flow of Qi and assist your body in its return to a balanced state.
Acupuncture is highly beneficial for the treatment of a variety of symptoms and disorders and can provide supportive care to traditional styles of treatment.

Japanese Acupuncture focuses on treating the underlying cause of the issue as well as the symptoms that the client has. The first component of the treatment highlights and focuses on any energetic imbalances that the client is dealing with. We call this the “root treatment” and when conducted effectively, helps to stimulate the innate healing abilities of the body. The second component of the treatment is called “the branch treatment”, whereby a range of techniques are utilised to remove the symptoms of a client.
The main difference between Japanese Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Acupuncture is that in Japanese Acupuncture the energetic forces of the body are accessed a lot closer to the surface of the body. This means that needles are inserted quite shallowly and with little disturbance and is quite comfortable for clients.
