ARE YOU READY TO STOP SMOKING?

Isn’t it funny that for most people, the only good thing about smoking is the chemical fulfilment you get from the first cigarette in the morning or on a break with a coffee or perhaps with a drink?

BUT... the ONLY reason it is enjoyable, is because of the addiction that is set up by the nicotine in the cigarette in the first place!!

You may think that there are other good things about smoking too, so I challenge you to send me your long list of all the benefits of smoking.

You’ll soon realize that the downside is far worse than the benefits.

How will you know when you are ready to stop?

You may want to stop, but keep putting it off because you don’t know how?

Perhaps you simply ignore the parts of you that want to feel good, to have more energy and money because changing something you’ve grown accustomed to simply doesn’t enter your mind often enough.

So are you unconscious like those people?

If you are reading this, I’d suggest not...

A lot of people become ready to stop smoking very fast because of some serious health scares, such as early emphysema or cancerous tumours. They ‘wake up’ very quickly to the fact that life is finite, that health is precious and that smoking is a wasteful ignorance of both.

What I’d like to suggest is, that as yet, you just haven’t Committed to Quit.

Why haven’t you? Does it matter?

Just Commit now! All you need to do is Commit. Make a good decision... Pick up the phone, book your appointment and NEVER look back!

WHY SHOULD YOU STOP?

Powerful motivations for making your commitment to quit include the following real dangers for smokers.

The current estimate from the Centre for Disease Control in the US is that 50% of smokers die from smoking related causes;

  • Cancer – Lung, nose, throat, mouth, liver, bowel, stomach... you name it, the cancerous chemicals in cigarettes can attack each and every system of the body.

  • Heart Disease – The cardiovascular system is hit hard, strokes and heart attacks are very common

  • Lung Disease – A number of severe illnesses will attack the lungs specifically due to smoking. If you avoid cancer, you may not be so lucky to avoid emphysema and chronic bronchitis.

  • Circulatory system damage – Due to reduced circulation, pins and needles, numbness and pain is first noticed in the hands and feet. In some cases amputation has been necessary due to onset of gangrene.

Perhaps a better question to ask yourself is, “Why shouldn’t I stop?”

You’ll find that stopping smoking is all about changing how you apply your mind to your life or changing what you think and feel in regards to smoking and your health.

A disempowered mindset will impact on every other area of life, so in making positive changes in this area, the affect on the rest of your life will also be positive.

Many smokers don’t remember what it feels like to be energized or how good we are meant to feel normally.

Positive benefits to making this important decision are;

  • Health & Energy – As the lungs clear and the circulation improves, you’ll begin to feel great. Walking and running becomes easier as your cardiovascular system returns to normal.

  • Greater Peace of Mind – The niggling voice in the back of the head that has been telling you to stop smoking for years finally shuts up. It really is a relief to feel on track and begin healing after smoking.

  • Money – Just entertain how much you’ll save... If you were to smoke 2 packets a week, at $20 per pack; that totals $2080 that you spend each year! If you spend even more than that, think about the holiday you could take each year instead? Remember the cost of smoking extends beyond the cost of the cigarettes as insurance premiums and future health care costs are hidden somewhat.

  • Quality of life – Longevity improves as you rid the body of toxins as well as your ability to enjoy more activities. Remember, you’ll experience greater energy and even more money in your pocket as a non smoker.

  • Set a Positive Example – You’ve grown up by watching and learning from those around you. All children are young and impressionable and tend to mimic the behaviours of others, especially those they love.

Do both yourself and the children around you a favour and commit to quit right now. You’ll also be gifted with a longer life so you can watch them grow up!

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?

You’ve probably been wanting to stop for some time, giving yourself some level of anxiety around when will you stop, how will you stop... trying gum, trying tablets, screwing up your packet and throwing it in the garbage then going cold turkey...

I know, because I did all of the above too. It took me years of trying to go cold turkey, cycling through effort after effort, failing and trying again. Enjoying the chemical fulfilment but knowing that that was the only good thing about them and wishing I could easily stop.

So how long does it take to Quit? Well, how long have you been trying?

The real question is, how long until you Commit to Quit.

I write Commit with a capital ‘C’, because you have to mean it. A commitment is often too easily forgotten, like New Year’s resolutions, they often lack real power, they aren’t really commitments at all.

Interestingly, it only takes a split second to Commit.

And once you have Committed, you are ready to call and make an appointment.

My ‘Breathe Again’ program is two sessions long, up to 3 hours across both sessions. In just these two short sessions you’ll be breathing again and importantly, not missing the cancer sticks at all.

CLINICALLY EFFECTIVE

Countless clinical hours have proven the effectiveness of psychotherapy and hypnosis for dealing with smoking. Many other damaging habits such as gambling, drinking and drug addiction are also being successfully addressed.

Smoking Cessation has a success rate in excess of 95% with two session programs. As single session programs often fall short at 60% success rate, I only offer the two or more sessions program.

Why would I want to give you less chance at success?

It’s important to note that each person responds differently and that your program is tailored to what you need. While some people have a good support structure around them to quit, many don’t and need additional support from me to break the habit.

I’m here to serve you to get the most out of your program and of your life. Feel free to contact me with any specific questions you have about your personal addictive patterns.

WHAT WILL I DO INSTEAD?

A common concern people have before quitting smoking is the perception that something will be missing.

Clients ask me questions like;

“So what will I be then if I stop smoking?”

“What will I do with my hands?”

“Will I still go outside and hang with the smokers, or will I stay at the table and chat with the non smokers?”

We often worry needlessly about the unknown, it’s natural, as we may not have been through that experience before, so how could we know?

Simple questions like these may slow down your decision to Commit, but you don’t have to let them.

Write down any concerns or questions you have and make an effort to answer them for yourself. This is where the answers will come from anyhow! Feel free to send them to me or any other questions and doubts you may have.

As a non smoker, you become someone that breathes again. You’ll seamlessly engage with life the way everyone else does, your hands will find their way into their comfortable place, that place they go when you don’t smoke now. In fact, there is less to worry about in general, also less to do and more energy to do it with, so you’ll have more choice as to where you’ll spend your time and with whom!

NATURAL, EFFECTIVE AND AFFORDABLE

Quite possibly the most expensive decision you’ll ever make is the decision NOT to stop smoking.

As I’ve mentioned on the previous page, your life IS your true value, so looking after yourself and your health is the only way to truly honour your life.
