Melton Yoga (MY) teaches contemporary Hatha Yoga, a heart-oriented, spiritually inspiring style, grounded in a deep knowledge of anatomy and optimal body alignment. Students are encouraged to listen to their body, respect its wisdom, and to progress at their own pace.

Every asana class, a Yoga exercise class during which Yoga postures or poses are practiced, includes breath awareness, relaxation and meditation. The intention of MY teachers is to assist students in the development of physical, mental, and spiritual well-being in a non-competitive and encouraging atmosphere.

Class Descriptions:

Melton Yoga offers a full range of adult and children’s yoga classes. Come and discover the many and varied physical, mental, and emotional benefits of Yoga!

  • MY Gentle Yoga classes specifically tailored to students looking for a gentle stretch and a longer relaxation. Gentle classes are particularly suitable for Senior students and students that haven’t exercised for a while and would like to get back into a regular exercise routine, or who are living with or recovering from injury or illness or joint restrictions.

  • MY Beginners Course is designed for students who have never done yoga before and consists of 10 1-hour technique and alignment classes. Completion of a 10-week Beginners Course is a pre-requisite for entry into General classes. Bookings are essential.

  • MY General Yoga classes are designed to cater for all experience levels, from beginners (who have completed the MY Beginners Course) through to students with an established Yoga practice.

  • MY Advanced Yoga classes are designed for students that want to deepen their experience of Yoga.

  • MY Prenatal Yoga classes combine gentle asana, relaxation and meditation with breath work. These classes are only suitable if you are more than 12 weeks pregnant. Come along for an hour of precious Me Time. Bookings are essential.

  • MY Kids Yoga classes are suitable for children between the ages of 4 and 12 years. Your children learn poses that not only build strength, stamina, and flexibility, but confidence too! Your children will also learn techniques that help them develop mental and emotional peace in a fun and safe environment. Kids classes run according to standard school term dates and bookings are essential. Melton Yoga also offers school holiday programs. Please contact the studio to book your child’s place.

  • Silver Age Yoga: Seniors are encouraged to attend appropriate classes and are entitled to the Silver Age discounted rate of $2 per class on presentation of a current Seniors card.

  • MY Mindfulness Meditations offer the opportunity to sit in silence and meditate with a group of like-minded people. Come and experience Mindfulness Meditation in a peaceful, spiritually inspiring environment. Meditation mats and cushions are provided but you are welcome to bring your own. You are also welcome to sit on a chair if that’s more comfortable for you. Wear comfortable, warm clothing.

  • MY Guided Meditations are designed to cater for all experience levels from students who have never meditated before to students with an established meditation practice.

  • MY PYT: 1-2-1 Personal Yoga Training allows you to ask all the questions you need to ask but often don’t get a chance to. If you are confused about alignment or not sure whether a particular pose is right for you, or want to learn to meditate but don’t know where to begin, or just want to relax but don’t know how, Personal Yoga Training is the answer. Come away with a completely personalised yoga program designed for your body and goals.
