Tinnitus

Tinnitus is the feeling of roaring, buzzing, ringing or whistling sounds in the ear without an external cause. It is often associated with hearing loss or impairment. It may also be associated with a blocked ear canal, a blocked Eustachian tube, ear infections, otosclerosis, Meniere’s disease, and trauma or injury, among other things. Besides the sound heard in the ear, other symptoms are dizziness, ear pain, a sense of fullness in the ear, and headaches. Tinnitus may be treated by masking the sound with another sound, medication, yoga, meditation, biofeedback, hypnosis, relaxation training, and acupuncture.
