Pyelonephritis

Pyelonephritis is an infection of the kidney that may be acute or chronic. It usually results from bacteria that have spread from the bladder. Chronic pyelonephritis is persistent kidney inflammation that can scar the kidneys and lead to chronic renal failure. Symptoms of pyelonephritis include back, side and groin pain, urgent, frequent urination, pain or burning during urination, fever/chills, nausea and vomiting, and pus or blood in the urine. Treatment is with antibiotics. However, Traditional Chinese Medicine, homoeopathy, herbal remedies, increasing fluids, and eliminating sugar can also be used in conjunction with antibiotics.
