Certificate IV in Bowen Therapy 10533NAT
You can start on the road to becoming a Bowen therapist with the Certificate IV in Bowen Therapy 10533NAT, which is a Nationally Recognised qualification through Bowen Training Australia RTO#41134.
You may choose to progress to the Diploma of Specialised Bowen Therapy 10534NAT on successful completion of the Certificate IV.
These courses are the only ones recognised by the Bowen Association Australia.
The Certificate IV programme consists of seven (7) hands-on modules (each two days) where you learn the practical application of Bowen Therapy. These are the parts you can do with me.
There are also distance modules in Anatomy and Physiology, Communication and Referrals, Administer a Practice, Workplace Health and Safety, Infection Control and First Aid. These are essential aspects of good practice and are done directly through Bowen Training Australia via workbooks downloaded and uploaded via the internet, so it is quite flexible learning.
You'll also need to attain your First Aid certificate through a Registered Training Organisation along the way.
The Certificate IV can be completed part-time in a minimum of one year and up to 18 months. This allows time to complete log-book hours and case studies.
My next round of classes for Sydney 2019 will be starting mid-year. Dates will be up soon! Contact me to express interest.
My next round of classes for Canberra will be:
Module 1 - 6th and 7th of April 2019
Module 2 - 4th and 5th of May 2019
Module 3 - 8th and 9th of June 2019
Module 4 - 24th and 25th of August 2019
Module 5 - 21st and 22nd of September 2019
Module 6 - 26th and 27th of October 2019
Module 7 - 14th and 15th of December 2019
In the event that you ever can't make a class, you can always take it with another instructor as we are all teaching a universal syllabus.
There is also information there about Credit Transfer (if you have already done the same unit as part of another qualification) and Recognition of Prior Learning (if you hold relevant work/life experience, or if you have completed a similar unit of competency).
And, of course, if you have any questions, feel free to contact me!
Sydney classes will be held in my clinic, Sydney Complementary Health, opposite Hyde Park in the Sydney CBD, which is easily accessible by public transport. There is no need to bring a table or towels etc. Morning and afternoon tea will be provided, with a variety of lunch options nearby in the shopping district. You will receive manuals with all the procedures learnt to help you practise and revise.
Canberra classes will be held at Canberra Bowenwork at the Griffith shops.
Classes will be kept small for individual attention, with only around 6 participants on a first-in basis. Please note, you will be practising on each other during the course.
New! An Introduction to Bowen Therapy
Are you intrigued by Bowen but not sure about committing to a full course just yet? Would you like to learn a few moves to help at home with your family? Well, this 4-hour introductory course may be what you have been waiting for. Come along and learn some simple moves for the lower back, upper back, neck and knee and get a feel for if a career in Bowen Therapy is for you.
The next introductory day will be held at the clinic from 10am to 2pm on Saturday the 1st of December for only $125.
You will receive notes to take home to help remind you of what you have learnt and some new skills to apply when someone at home has a bit of an ache and can't get to their regular therapist for a while. No need to bring anything bar yourself. We will be working through light clothing (anything too heavy makes it hard to learn), so no worries about being self-conscious either.
Please make sure your nails are trimmed reasonably short, so there are no ouchies! Morning tea will be provided.
Please note that this introductory workshop is not part of the nationally recognised training, however it is Bowtech-accredited.
