TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE

Traditional Chinese medicine has been practised for more than 5000 years. It includes acupuncture, Chinese herbs and therapeutic massage.

Acupuncture can affect bodily changes of local tissues, at the neurological and the hormonal level. The World Health Organisation (WHO) has stated that acupuncture is useful for treating respiratory, gastro-intestinal, neurological and muscular problems. In particular, it is effective against asthma, hay fever, sinusitis, gastric ulcers, diarrhoea, constipation, insomnia, depression, headache, migraine, tennis elbow, lower back pain and arthritis, just to name a few.

Chinese herbal treatment is an important part of Chinese medicine. Herbal formulae were developed and tested on humans, and refined and utilised for millennia, withstanding the test of time. Herbal treatment provides a match between the pathology of a disease and the pharmacology of the herbs. It covers a range of illnesses from influenza, bronchitis, to menstruation disorder and menopausal syndrome.

Therapeutic massage can improve blood circulation and relax the muscular and nervous system. It is also effective for the relief of stress and depression.
