Thought of the Day

“For attractive lips – speak words of kindness. For lovely eyes – see the good in people. For a slim figure – share your food with the hungry. For beautiful hair – let a child run their fingers through it once a day. For poise – walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone.”
Audrey Hepburn

Chakra Balancing

What is it?
There are seven chakras or energy centres in the body. Each of these chakras relate to a certain parts of your body and ailments. In order for optimum health, these chakras all need to be in balance. The chakras are as follows:
First Chakra (Root Chakra): this is located at the base of your spine and is associated with adrenal glands and basic survival.
Second Chakra: this is located in the genital area and is associated with the reproductive system and sexuality.
Third Chakra: the third chakra is associated with the pancreas and solar plexus, and is located around your belly button.
Fourth Chakra (Heart Chakra): this chakra is not only associate with your heart, but with your immune system as well. This is the centre for love and compassion.
Fifth Chakra (Throat Chakra): having association with the thyroid gland, this chakra is located in your throat.
Sixth Chakra (Forehead Chakra): often referred to as the third eye, this is associated with hormonal production.
Seventh Chakra (Crown Chakra): located at the top of your head, this is associated with spiritual consciousness.

These chakras must work together in order to maintain your physical, mental, and spiritual health.

What can it do for me?
Chakra balancing allows your body to maximise your energy flow, and this in turn creates an enlightened and overall sense of wellness.

The Reconnection

Reconnective Healing® began in 1993 when Dr Eric Pearl, a chiropractor and now an internationally recognised healer, noticed his patients were being healed from various afflictions. He has since done a lot of research and now made it his mission to impart the light and information of the Reconnective Healing® process to the world.

What is Reconnective Healing®?
This is a “hands off” treatment which utilises the healing energies of the universe to facilitate the healing of your mind, body and spirit. You are fully clothed during the session which usually lasts approximately 45 minutes and between 1-3 sessions are recommended. The healings come in many forms and are not always what you may expect. The universe will give you what you require to renew your mind, body and spirit and the healing may even occur after the session has ended as the energies continue to work with you.

What can it do for me?
Every persons experience is unique, however there are many possible benefits such as enhancing the renewal functions of your body. It also releases blocks or interferences allowing you to move forward and bring balance back into your life. Many people report seeing light or colours, feeling vibrations and hearing voices.

What is The Reconnection®?
The Reconnection® involves reactivating your body’s meridian/acupuncture lines to the grid/energy lines that encircle the earth. This is designed to raise the frequencies of your body and connect you at a new level to the entire universe. This is conducted over 2 sessions, each approximately 1- 1.5 hours in duration. Again this is fully clothed and “hands off”. It is recommended you have at least one Reconnective Healing® prior to having The Reconnection®.

What can it do for me?
The Reconnection® is concerned with the evolution of our mind body and spirit. It activates a new level of connection to the universe, which also allows us to use the unique vibratory levels and frequencies of the universe to heal ourselves and others and ultimately assist in our evolution.

Deep Tissue and Remedial Massage

What is it?
Remedial and Deep Tissue massage utilises several specialised techniques, sometimes requiring deep muscle compression to release both toxins and deeply held tension points. It is generally used to release chronic tension and relieve sporting injuries. Often this style can be point specific on your body, as well as with the connective tissues to that particular muscle. This style can be used in conjunction with other modalities where the overall goal is for relieving the body of tension. It can also work on emotional issues stored deep within the body.

What can it do for me?
Each treatment is tailored to the needs of the individual and designed to be performed with minimum discomfort to the client, with maximum therapeutic benefits. However, it is important for the client to keep the therapist informed if they experience pain. This treatment is designed to release the tension and knots within the muscle fibres and remove built up toxins through improved blood and lymph flow. It also calms the peripheral nervous system and aids in tissue repair. This all helps to alleviate chronic pain and headaches and allows for more mobility through the joints, giving freer movement.

Aromatherapy and Relaxation Massage

Quite often your therapist will incorporate several different modalities in the one session and there are few modalities that go together as well as Aromatherapy and Relaxation Massage.

What is it?
Aromatherapy finds it roots from throughout the world starting roughly 6000 years ago. The basics behind it is that various essential oils are burned, causing a rapid infusion into your blood stream through your breath. The various scents then cause your body to react according to the oils used, and your own experiences with the scent. Think on this for a moment and it makes perfect sense, clearly there are offensive smells that make you tense, whilst there are some scents that bring you back to that lovely and relaxing holiday. Relaxation Massage is just that, a massage technique that makes the body more relaxed and stimulates increased circulation throughout your body. Your therapist will make long strokes along your muscles in a direction that follows the blood flow back to your heart.

What will it do for me?
As both modalities serve to relax and heal your body, you should walk away from a therapy session feeling calm, relaxed, and with a general sense of ease. You may also walk away from the massage feeling completely re-invigorated, as some of the oils used are meant to stimulate your body to heal itself. These styles are ideal for those in high stress jobs, those needing to focus on the important things in life, or those who simply enjoy the incredible calmness that comes over you when in a totally relaxed state.

Note: You may walk away with the sense that your hour long session only lasted 10 – 15 minutes. Fear not, it is likely because you fell asleep. Though sleep is not the ultimate goal of these modalities, it is sometimes a by product of you becoming so relaxed. Don’t worry, your therapist has continued the massage throughout your slumber.
