The Centre offers a wide range of sports and fitness opportunities for people of all ages and abilities.

What is massage?
Massage is one of the oldest forms of healing. It dates back as early as 3000BC. It is the systematic manipulation of the soft tissues of the body to provide a therapeutic effect. Given correctly, it can be sedating or invigoration. Massage helps with different range of conditions such as muscle pain, tensions, fatigue, stress, tiredness, injuries and the like.

What does massage treatment at APARC involve?
Massage treatment at APARC may involve:
- Filling in of client form (For new clients)
- Physical assessment depending on the kind of treatment a client came in for. It involves assessment and testing of someone’s range of movement and pain and discomfort levels.
- Application of pressure on a client’s body using the therapist’s hands, arms or elbows. It may involve effleurage (long strokes), kneading, deep strokes, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, etc.
- Application of other treatment massage tools such as Cupping.
- Stretching and strengthening exercises.
- Re-assessment at the end of treatment
