When can I enrol?


As the course is delivered online, you can enrol and start learning within a few days. You will be sent login details so that you can undertake the course at your own pace from wherever you are – at home, at work, on holidays or anywhere you have access to the web.

How much time do I have to complete the course?


The course is designed to take between 9 and 12 months to complete. However the more time you can devote to the course, the sooner you will finish. Most students finish between 6-9 months. Those who enrol in the face-to-face Intensive Program can complete the course in as little as 2 months.

What future training opportunities are available once I finish my course?


When you have completed your life coaching course you will be able to receive Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for the business units that you have studied which will give you credit towards the Certificate IV in Small Business Management. This is a usually a 6-12 month course, but with your credits you can obtain a business qualification in much less time.

Is the course Government Accredited / Nationally Recognised?


There are no government standards regulating life coaching. This is why the Australian Institute of life Coaches has been established – to raise the standard and improve the profile of life coaching in Australia. The course has been designed to give you the very best and most relevant information and skills to assist you better understand human behaviour and people's motivation to change, whilst at the same time developing your coaching skills and learning how to operate your business ethically and responsibly. You graduate with a 'Coaching Toolkit' to get you started almost immediately.

Is the course internationally recognised?


There are approximately 13 organisations worldwide which purport to provide international recognition of coaching qualifications. These are all private organisations which market themselves well. The International Coaching Federation (ICF) is one of these 13. The Diploma of Life Coaching contains all the requirements for you to become a member of the ICF once you graduate.

In terms of national accreditation, the Diploma of Life Coaching has been developed consistent with the requirements of the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) in response to industry need and with input from industry experts. It includes some units of study for which students can obtain Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) should they wish to continue their learning to complete a Certificate IV in Small Business Management after graduating as a Life Coach.

Can I make a living from Life Coaching?


Yes, you can definitely make Life Coaching your business or use your life coaching skills to enhance your career. As your client list grows it can become your sole occupation. Alternately you can value-add to your current clients (e.g. if you are a personal trainer, hairdresser, beautician or similar occupation) and earn extra income to increase your wealth.

If you are employed, life coaching skills are a definite advantage when you are interacting with your boss and co-workers, and indeed may lead to better promotion prospects or engagement in a section such as the Employee Relations Department.

When can I start in my own business?


Although it is advisable to complete the entire course first, you can start life coaching as soon as you have successfully completed the coaching units of study (ie after 6 units have been completed). The Australian Institute of Life Coaches has half-day courses to help you get started in your business, and improve your sales and marketing skills. These courses are additional to the online Diploma of Life Coaching, but included in the face-to-face Intensive Program. We can also manage the business and marketing systems for you, on a monthly fee-for-service basis.

How do I find Clients?


There are a number of ways to find and retain clients. When you enrol in the online Diploma of Life Coaching, you will complete the course with the knowledge of how to prepare a marketing plan and then it is up to you to put it into action. When you enrol in the Intensive Program we work with you to develop your marketing strategies, get your systems in place, and get you started.
