Welcome to Balanced Pilates

We focus on strengthening your core muscles using controlled, yet flowing movements. Contemporary Pilates is an all over body workout which develops increased muscle tone, strength and flexibility throughout the body. The breathing techniques in our classes allow an increased flow of oxygen to your muscles and help relieve stress, leading to a better sense of well being. Core exercises focus on toning abdominals, spine and pelvic alignment, strengthening the back and improving posture. As the Pilates method seeks to develop controlled movement from a strong centre, co-ordination and balance also improves.

Balanced Pilate's qualified instructors provide a challenging and invigorating session, flexible to suit your needs. Our classes incorporate a flowing mat work repertoire and small Pilates props, designed to have you leaving rejuvenated, free from tension and full of energy!

Contemporary Pilates

Contemporary Pilates uses a modern but still holistic approach on Joseph Pilate's unique system of body conditioning, effective for lengthening, shaping and stretching all of your muscles. Balanced Pilates uses the original teachings from Joseph Pilates but follows the 6 principles of Contemporary Pilates - concentration, control, centring, flow, precision and breathing.

Our flexible range of repertoire allows modification in each session, ranging from beginners to advanced, for each individuals needs. Using corrective and functional movements, Balanced Pilates will help you take control of your own well being.

Our Classes

Pilates - Essentials and Flow

Our Contemporary Pilates classes are a dynamic mix of Essentials and Flow repertoire. Learn to connect body and mind as you develop long, lean muscles and build flexibility! Focusing on the Pilates fundamentals, techniques and principles, you will enjoy an all over body workout, develop a balanced body and learn to move well!

Using dynamic repertoire we progressively increase your strength and flexibility with a continuous, flowing class. Our classes are designed to adapt the movements so each student can work to their own potential.

All of our Contemporary Pilates classes incorporate small props such as circles and toning balls, further challenging strength, balance and control.

Slings Myofascial Training

Slings Myofascial training repertoire is layered into all of our classes. The Slings concept is designed to improve myofascial balance and efficiency through movement. 'Myo' refers to muscle and 'fascia' is the term describing the body-wide elastic tissue web that surrounds and connects all systems in our bodies.

Join us as we add the bounce and elasticity of Slings to our repertoire and leave class moving with ease and feeling ENERGISED!

Foam Roller Pilates

Adding foam rollers to our mat work repertoire is an excellent prop to facilitate the activation of core stabilising muscles. Foam rollers improve proprioception, kinaesthetic sense and enhance stretching. We also use the foam rollers as a self-myofascial release to tight areas of the body.
