ABOUT

Bay Osteopathy and Injury Rehabilitation is a local osteopathic clinic established in the Fraser Coast region in early 2018. We have a strong focus on helping patients return to pain-free movement.

At Bay Osteopathy and Injury Rehabilitation, we emphasise the importance of maintaining functional ability that will keep you moving through all stages of your life.

Whether you are suffering from a new injury, a pre-existing chronic medical condition or you simply want to improve your functional ability and performance an Osteopath may be able to help!

Upon arrival for your initial appointment, you will be asked to fill out a form outlining your previous medical history. Your osteopath will then use this information in conjunction with osteopathic examination and clinical tests, to help determine how best to manage your condition. To perform an accurate physical examination of your condition our practitioners will require easy access to the area of the body in question. To maintain modesty gowns are provided, however, if you feel uncomfortable in the gown other arrangements can be made. We recommend wearing activewear when possible to help maintain modesty with easy mobility.

In some cases, a diagnosis may require more than just a physical clinical examination. In these cases, you will be referred to a radiologist or back to your GP to ensure an accurate and concise diagnosis. Once a diagnosis has been made the practitioner will outline a treatment plan that best suits your individual needs. All treatment plans are unique to the individual and will consist of one on one appointments.

Genuine Care. Honest Advice. High-Quality Treatments.

At Bay Osteopathy and Injury Rehabilitation, our philosophy and practice rely on a model of safe and effective patient centred care. We treat our patients with high-quality care by employing current evidence-based research to our practice. Our health practitioners utilise every minute of your appointment, to not only listen to your needs but ensure the correct treatment and management is selected for optimum results. This ensures each patient receives a unique treatment plan tailored to them!

OUR TEAM

History

Bay Osteopathy and Injury Rehabilitation was established in late 2017. Joe and Nat had long thought about combining their friendship and business goals by establishing an Osteopathic clinic together when finally this opportunity arose in the beautiful Hervey Bay area.

They both determined that the area was in need of a new health avenue such as osteopathy as it provided a unique treatment style that was not previously offered to the community. They are both now happy to call Hervey Bay their home and are ecstatic with the community's welcome and acceptance.

OSTEOPATH

Joseph Henry

Joseph Henry is an experienced osteopath originally from northern New South Wales. After graduating from university Joe moved to Sydney where he worked for a number of years in a busy health facility. It was here that Joe not only further developed his clinical skills and education, but also became respected and well sought after practitioner. Joe is now a resident of the Fraser Coast region and is keen to bring his skills and health expertise to the Hervey Bay community. Whether it is helping you recover from an acute sporting injury, decreasing your pain from a chronic condition or simply increasing your functional capacity Joe takes great pride in any help he can provide.

During his study Joe received a SARRAH (Services for Australian Rural and Remote Allied Health) scholarship which helped him to thrive throughout his university years, sparking a passion that he followed all the way to Sydney and now to the beautiful town of Hervey Bay. Always looking to further his education and experience, for Joe, it’s all about the pride in seeing his patients’ lives improve as a result of their Osteopathic treatment.

OSTEOPATH

Nat Sloane

Nat embarked on his osteopathy journey with an extensive 5-year training at Southern Cross University, during which he was awarded the Services for Australian Rural and Remote Allied Health (SARRAH) scholarship. After graduating, he gained valuable experience working in various clinics in Sydney and the South Coast of NSW. With the belief that he is only as good as his last treatment, Nat continuously explores new approaches and skills in patient assessment and treatment through regular training.

Nat believes in providing patient-centered, individualised care for each of his patients to help them achieve the best possible outcome. He will evaluate your condition and build a program that is designed not only to ease the pain but also to guide you back to your desired level of activity and health. As a fitness enthusiast who has recovered from numerous injuries himself, he has special interests in addressing musculoskeletal restrictions and movements to enhance performance, prevent injury or restore balance in the body.

With a passion to share his skills and clinical expertise, Nat has recently relocated to the Fraser Coast region and he is excited to immerse himself in the Hervey Bay community.
