I’m Brenda Rosenfeld and I’d like to tell you a little about me.
I love being a Nutritional Coach, Naturopath, Wellness Mentor and Herbalist.
Over the past 18 years I have been a Nutritionist, Naturopath and Herbalist. Before that I spent 10 years as an Intensive Care nurse.
I have a Bachelor of Applied Science in Nursing, a Diploma of Nutrition, a Diploma of Naturopathy and a Diploma of Herbal Medicine. I have spent over 5 years lecturing and supervising students at Nature Care College and I have also had the pleasure of being a speaker at over 25 events.
My focus is on the mind-body connection and the way our body reflects everything that we think and feel. At the heart of my practice is cardiovascular health.
I work with correcting the underlying imbalances that may be contributing to the potential development of cardiovascular related conditions including for example, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, angina and insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome.
In my practice I bridge the divide between orthodox medicine and nutrition and naturopathy because my experience shows how strongly they work together.
I work with doctors and other health care professionals, including specialists as part of your team because my belief is that “even though our birth number rises, ageing is optional”.
I use state of the art in house testing including , bio-impedance cellular age and health testing and food intolerance testing. These tools are used to assist in identifying the deep body inflammations, stresses and fatigues that may be contributing to your particular health issues.
I have a personal focus on continual learning. I spend multiple hours annually ensuring I am across developing industry trends and the latest research impacting my client’s health and lives.
My Mission Statement
To guide, inspire and motivate you to become your strongest and healthiest heart and self, physically and emotionally, in a supportive, nurturing, welcoming and professional environment.
To provide you with the most up to date and researched treatments and protocols, comprehensive assessment and follow-up care and nutritional, naturopathic and herbal medicines that are specifically tailored to you.
High Blood Pressure (Hypertension)
As we get older our blood vessels can harden. The problem is the same amount of blood needs to get through the system. So your heart has to work harder to pump the blood through, potentially making the pressure in your pipes higher.
This could cause kidney problems that may impact your waterworks or eye problems that may impact your long term bridge or Sudoku prospects.
Hypertension is a serious disease. It’s been estimated that up to 66% of strokes and 50% of heart disease are attributable to hypertension.
Your anti-hypertension medications play a valuable role. Like all drugs, they may have some side effects. What I can do is support your body to make the best use of the medication.
Multiple modifiable factors that can help to prevent high blood pressure from developing have been identified including for example cigarette smoking, inactivity, excess alcohol consumption and central obesity. What it clearly shows is that it may be reversible and you can take control of it.
There are some simple steps you can take to prevent it from happening. I’d like to help you with those and we can discuss them over a cup of green tea.
If you are one of the millions that do have high blood pressure and are on medication, there are numerous ways to prevent it from progressing. It doesn’t mean that you are going to get to the stage of having a heart attack or stroke.
