Charmaine and Steve are passionate about guiding people in their quest for improving the way they relay and understand their own needs and those of others.
They see people of all ages and address different issues ranging from pregnancy and childbirth to men and women dealing with aged care.
For more than three decades, Charmaine and Steve have been the support system of many individuals, couples and families on the Mornington Peninsula and previously in Shepparton.
You can see them proactively participating in community support programs organised by local churches and agencies. They are constantly reaching out and assuring everyone that no problem is bigger than their ability to improve their lives.
Charmaine has been a clinical social worker and family therapist for over 30 years. She uses her wide range of skills to help people living in crises or dealing with life’s crossroads.
She believes that everyone needs someone to hear them out. Through therapeutic counselling, she believes that it’ll be much easier for an individual, couple or family to cope with their challenges and find the road to a better life.
Charmaine focuses on depression, anxiety and stress. In addition, she address the following issues in her therapy sessions:
She applies different modalities of therapy, including Brief Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Emotion Focussed Therapy, Narrative Therapy and CBT, to help people improve their health and wellbeing.
Charmaine also offers the Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator assessment program to organisations like schools and churches.
Charmaine works with the whole being of an individual, which consists of their actions, emotions, thoughts, spirituality and surroundings, to guide them in finding the natural remedies for anxiety and depression.
As a registered therapist, Charmaine also provides counselling services through Better Access, Chronic Disease Program, TAC, Victims of Crime and NDIS. She also offers home visits if needed.
Steve is a clinical family therapist with extensive experience with couples. He supports men and boys who are striving to move away from their old ways that have harmed their relationships with people whom they love and care about.
He combines counselling and coaching as he encourages these men to pursue healthy actions in their lives. His strategy supports their strengths, love, desires and values, which ultimately lead them towards creating better relationships.
Through their sessions with Steve, many young and adult men have discovered better ways of countering frustration, anger, situational sadness, mistrust, fear, difficulties in parenting, high alcohol use, and partner conflict.
