Chinese Herbal Medicine includes the use of a variety of plant, mineral and animal products to treat a wide variety of medical conditions. Traditionally the raw ‘herbs’ are boiled as a tea, today the formulas are made available as easy to use and economical powders. All the products used at China Dragon are ground and prepared onsite.
Formulas are not sold over the counter, but prescribed tailored to the individual.
Consultation Information
Initial appointments last 1 – 1.5 hrs, subsequent appointments 45min – 1 hr.
A comprehensive history is taken, and diagnosis determined through questioning, assessment of the points and channels, as well as observation of the tongue and taking the pulse.
Treatment commonly takes the form of acupuncture / massage for external problems (injuries and pain) or acupuncture / herbal medicine for internal conditions (illnesses and general health). At the end of the consultation exercises or dietary recommendations may also be given.
