This incorporates a full medical history, including dietary and lifestyle factors; an appropriate family history and a comprehensive medical examination. I then order the necessary blood and other tests, and in subsequent consultations develop an action plan, which could include pharmaceuticals, nutritional supplements and important dietary adjustments.
