Emily is a contributing author to several academic text books in the area of complementary medicine, writes health based articles for Every Day Health magazine, and is an expert advisor in complementary medicine for Prevention magazine.

Conditions treated

Naturopathy can benefit individuals with a wide range of both acute and chronic health issues including the following:

  • Immune system - autoimmune diseases, infections, chronic fatigue syndrome, and allergies

  • Digestive system - inflammatory and irritable bowel disease, constipation/diarrhoea, reflux, liver conditions, bloating and gastrointestinal discomfort.

  • Skin - including psoriasis, eczema, and acne.

  • Nervous system - depression, anxiety, stress, and insomnia.

  • Gynaecological - PMS, polycystic ovarian syndrome, endometriosis, infertility and menopause
Emily has a special passion in supporting women both before and during pregnancy. Maximizing fertility in preparation for starting a family ideally starts with preconception care. This involves working with both parents to optimize their overall health. Research has shown that preconception care may improve the chances of a healthy conception and reduce the risk of miscarriage. The health status of mother before and during pregnancy has also been found to have a significant impact on her child’s development and health, and this influence continues through to adulthood especially in relation to their susceptibility to diseases such as obesity, type-2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

Emily focuses on achieving health by addressing the underlying causes of presenting conditions. She uses nutritional and herbal medicine, in conjunction with dietary and lifestyle guidance, to treat presenting conditions and to assist patients to achieve long term wellbeing.

What is Naturopathy?

Naturopathy is a holistic method of healing which utilises natural medicines with diet and lifestyle to support the body to heal itself. It emphasises a preventative approach, by treating the causes of disease rather than just the symptoms.

What to expect at a consultation

A confidential and thorough case history will be taken including your current, past and family medical history, and your diet and lifestyle. Additional information needed for assessment may also be gathered using techniques such as iridology, appropriate physical examinations, and referral for functional and/or pathology testing. This information is collated in order to arrive at specific therapeutic aims which address both any symptoms you are experiencing, and target the underlying cause(s) of the problem. Treatment will usually involve diet and lifestyle recommendations, and if required, nutritional and/or herbal medicines will be prescribed.
