Hi, my name is George; I have been practicing T.C.M for over 36 years and have treated a wide variety of problems in that time.

T.C.M is a holistic healthcare system and has been used for thousands of years to treat and manage many health issues by balancing and harmonizing mind, body and spirit.

There are a number of modalities in T.C.M we offer:

  • Herbal medicine
  • Acupuncture
  • Cupping
  • Gua Sha

Herbal medicine is used for one’s constitution and for internal and external health problems, which of course are closely related, and more often that not involve blood stagnation.

Acupuncture involves inserting fine needles into specific points on the body to stimulate Qi (energy) and blood flow.

Cupping is the application of suction cups, usually on the back, to remove blood stagnation and promote blood flow. If there is blood stagnation, it is seen as a bruise-like marking where the cup has been.

Gua Sha is another modality to remove blood stagnation and promote blood flow. It involves a scraping technique, usually on the back, and again may leave a bruise-like mark where the blood is stagnating.

The bruise-like marks are not a true bruise/contusion, which occurs when there is damage to the capillaries due to injury and the blood spills out under the skin. Cupping and Gua Sha bring the blood to the surface capillaries and if the blood is thick and stagnant, it is trapped in these very small blood vessels and fresh blood replaces it, restoring and improving blood flow deeper down.

As you can see there is a strong focus on blood flow in T.C.M, as all healing can only occur via the blood.

“No blood, no life”

All treatments are individualized and may use one modality or a combination of the above modalities determined by ones specific situation.

Special interests: chronic pain eg. Headache, migraine, back, neck and all musculoskeletal pain.
