Annemiek Van De Kamp

My name is Annemiek van de Kamp, I am a Reiki practitioner.

Reiki is a 'hands-on' natural healing systems.

The aim of a treatment is to identify and locate blockages in the body's energy system, to treat them and to restore the energy levels and thus enhancing the innate healing capacity of the body and promote wellbeing.

Reiki is a very gentle body contact; in a sequence of hand positions it covers the head, torso and areas that need special attention.

I got so intrigued by all the stories I heard about Reiki and the people I met that worked with Reiki that I decided to take the First Degree Reiki course, just out of curiosity.
That was in December 1994. In October 1995 I took the Second Degree Reiki course and that was it.....I thought. I enjoyed Reiki and practised it on myself, my friends and family and our cats. But in 2001 there was this inner voice and calling of becoming a Reiki teacher. So I started a 15 months apprenticeship which I completed in May 2002.

I am very proud to be the first student in Australia that undertook and finished the new nationally accredited qualification, 10346NAT Cert IV in Reiki Treatment Practice.

Now that I have credible accreditation I feel that I have equivalent status alongside practitioners in other accepted modalities. Hopefully this opens doors and it will stimulate others practitioners to undertake this course as well.

I am trained in the Usui System of Reiki Healing – Usui Shiki Ryoho. I teach and practise the Usui System of Reiki by honouring and maintaining the system which is passed on through the direct spiritual lineage of Mikao Usui, Chujiro Hayashi, Hawayo Takata, Wanja Twan, Inger Droog, Werner Mulder, Mies van Hoorn, Gerard Visker to Annemiek van de Kamp.
