Pamela works from a client-centred perspective; she finds providing a safe place for the client to talk freely without fear of judgement, often promotes the beginning of the healing process. After the initial getting-to-know-you session(s), Pamela frequently finds well-known modalities such as Brief Therapy, CBT, DBT, Exposure Therapy may be useful and will discuss this with you. As everyone's recovery process is individual, Pamela uses techniques which suit the individual.

While Pamela sees clients privately, she also works at Northside Group's Cremorne Clinic, a residential mental health care facility, as a group facilitator. Here she takes an inpatient group consisting of people suffering from a range of acute mental distress, and a weekly outpatient Day Group. Pamela has also been the resident counsellor at Petrea King (author, keynote speaker, facilitator, naturopath)'s Quest For Life Foundation, Bundanoon, during which her education and insight took an exponential leap. For this opportunity she remains very grateful.

In her previous life Pamela was an Anaesthetic Nurse Educator, Registered Nurse and Midwife. While working in these roles, she developed recognition and management of acute stress: her own, her colleagues' and her patients'. Combined with her own innate empathy and tolerance, it was a natural step to take towards counselling. Almost 20 years ago Pamela began life as a counsellor; one of the many rewards in this work is an ongoing rich education and enthusiasm for the persistent healing potential of the human condition.

Mindfulness has always been an important goal in Pamela's life; insight and clarity from regular silent retreats have become indispensable both personally and also as a successful therapist. There are hundreds of various mindfulness techniques which have been shown to complement mental therapy and help provide healing; discussion about finding suitable techniques are often used.

Pamela sees clients privately and she uses telehealth for online therapy.
