I am a qualified Psychotherapist and Counsellor with over twenty years experience in this field. I work mostly with people struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, trauma. All of which can manifest at different times or seemingly all at once, leading to feelings of powerlessness, numbness and overwhelm.

My work is client-centred, which simply means you tell your story and I listen. My training as an empathic and intuitive listener helps me reflect back to you and together we begin to untangle your thoughts, your confusion, or your overwhelm. There is no judgement, and I strive to help clients feel safe and heard. As everyone's recovery process is individual, I may set up other techniques or therapies which suit the situation.

As well as my private practice, I also have a role at Quest for Life Foundation, Bundanoon, as resident counsellor several times a year. Set up by well-known author, keynote speaker and therapist Petrea King, Quest provides life-changing opportunities for participants and is an ongoing rich experience and education for me. It is a privilege to work beside Petrea at Quest for Life.

Before leaving to concentrate on my private practice, I enjoyed the position of group facilitator at Northside Group's Cremorne Clinic, a private mental health care facility, where I took a regular weekly outpatient group. The role also entailed facilitating inpatient groups consisting of people suffering from a range of acute mental illnesses. I was a group facilitator at Northside for over five years - a position that gave me valuable insights and experience.

In my previous life I was an Anaesthetic Nurse Educator, Registered Nurse and Midwife. While working in these roles, I developed a certain recognition and management of acute stress: my own, my colleagues' and my patients'. Combined with my  innate empathy and tolerance, it was a natural step to train as a counsellor and I began this training almost twenty years ago. This work provides a constant education which I find richly rewarding and I am always inspired by the persistent healing potential of the human condition.

Mindfulness has always been an important part of my life; insight and clarity from regular silent retreats have become indispensable both for me personally and also in my work as a successful therapist. There are hundreds of mindfulness techniques which complement mental therapy and sometimes I might use these in private therapy sessions.

I am available for telehealth as online therapy..
