About the IAAMA

The International Aromatherapy & Aromatic Medicine Association Incorporated (IAAMA) was established as The International Federation of Aromatherapists (Australian Branch) Incorporated in September 1993. In January 2008, its name was changed to IAAMA.

A new constitution was adopted in 1993, reviewed in 2008 when the name was changed and reviewed last in October 2017 under the Associations Incorporation Act of 2009.

Today, as a non-profit, peak representative of aromatherapy practitioners, the IAAMA is committed to ensuring the quality of standards in Aromatherapy and to serving professional Aromatherapists, health providers and the general public with valuable information and support.

The IAAMA is dedicated to enhancing public perception and knowledge of therapeutic aromatherapy and the safe and effective use of essential oils in everyday life.
