What does "KAIZEN" mean?

KAIZEN is a Japanese word which means "change for the better". It is now used quite commonly used in the corporate world to improve operations or improving productivity in a gradual, methological order.

Our Mission at Kaizen Remedial Massage Therapy is to continuously change your quality of life better.

We are here to help increase your awareness around your body. We will then recommend you small adjustments you can make in your daily life. These small changes can help you move better, reduce pain and optimise your overall wellbeing.

Who is Shizuka?

Shizuka is the owner of Kaizen Remedial Massage Therapy. While working with chiropractors and physiotherapists, Shizuka developed a passion for health and wellness. She believes that her innate talent for healing could help people cope with stress, pain, and injuries.

In her role as a remedial massage therapist, Shizuka uses soft tissue techniques, active/passive releases, and cupping tools to aid in recovery and relief. Through regular exercise and a self-care routine (including foam rolling and stretches), Shizuka can maintain optimal health and help you pursue your interests.

Among the conditions Shizuka treats:

  • Back pain
  • Headaches
  • Insomnia
  • Neck or shoulder pain
  • Delayed Muscle Onset Soreness (DOMS)
  • Knee pain
  • Elbow pain
  • Plantar fasciitis

How often should I be getting a massage?

Once every month. This is generally speaking though. The more active you are, the more you should be looking after yourself.

If you train like an athlete, ie. train almost every day, you want to be getting massage every week! If you train 3-4x a week, every fortnight. Make sure your body is keeping up with your recovery rate.

We understand that life gets in your way. This is why we recommend at least once a month. You deserve a break from your busy life. Don't wait until your pain stops you from what you're already doing.

Don't put up with pain any longer, contact Shizuka today!
