What are your opening hours?
Opening hours are flexible across a seven day week. I offer day and evening appointments.
How long does a session go for?
An hour and a half on the first visit, then an hour for any subsequent sessions after that.
Do you travel?
As there is no wheelchair access to my office, I do travel to clients who require the use of a wheelchair, or if there is another form of a disability preventing a client attending my office. However, I see all other clients in my office.
Am I entitled to a Medicare rebate?
No, unfortunately you cannot claim a Medicare rebate for counselling. There are some private health funds that do offer coverage, please contact your private health fund to request information.
Do you charge the same for couples counselling as you do individual counselling?
Yes, I charge one flat fee for both. $100 per session
I am on the disability support pension/veterans pension/and or I am a student, is there a reduced fee for me?
There is a reduced fee for those who are over 18 years of age and on a disability, student, or veteran’s pension. This varies, please contact me should you be in this circumstance.
I am a parent of an adolescent who needs the assistance of a counsellor, can I attend the appointment or do I have to wait outside?
You have the freedom to choose. A lot of families find it helpful to do a combination of individual and group counselling.
I have never been to counselling before, I am a little bit nervous, what can I expect?
To be able to freely tell me what is bothering you and what you need help with, while getting the personalised assistance you need. You choose how many sessions you want to attend, it may be one, or it may be many, the choice is yours.
Will there be any paperwork to fill in during the first session?
Yes, but not a large amount. This mainly involves privacy, consent forms and other information.
Are you qualified?
Yes! I am both degree qualified and registered with the Australian Counselling Association. I am required to attend ongoing professional development in order to maintain my registration. This ensure I am delivering the best possible service to you.
What are your methods of payment?
There are cash and EFTPOS facilities available.
