I stumbled into Reiki initially in 2003 when my life was leading up to a major crisis point that would bring me to a full and complete stop, forcing me to take stock of my life to that point and change direction.

I had never heard of it before seeing a course advertised in the local adult eduction centre. To this day, I have no real idea why I decided to sign up to attend the workshop and blindly receive an attunement to the first level of Reiki, but that is what I did and I have never regretted that decision.

Little was done with the Reiki (other than self-treat) until late in 2006, when I began to think it was time to complete my training and practice as a therapist. Within a matter of weeks, I was contacted by my original Reiki Master, Dorothy White, Founder of the Academy of Reiki, to say she was travelling to the area to conduct further workshops.

Over the next few months I travelled the North West and Mid North Coast of NSW, following Dorothy and attending all of the workshops necessary to become a Master/Teacher myself. This was achieved in May 2007.

At the time of completing my Master/Teacher training I couldn’t really envisage myself working as a teacher and indeed, it took me approximately another 12 months before I gained the courage to take that next step. I’m glad I did, because in doing so, I discovered a passion I never knew I had.

It has always been my view that in order to be the best possible teacher I can be, I must first live what it is that I share with others. It wasn't until 2012 that I felt I had grown sufficiently as both a teacher and as a soul to be able to complete my final level of training with Dorothy. By then Dorothy was living on the Sunshine Coast and so I made the journey to see her to complete my training. In August of 2012 I became a Grand Master of Reiki under the Academy of Reiki (although I prefer to use the term Advanced Teacher).

I initially worked as a professional associate of The Academy of Reiki, adhering to its practice and teaching standards. I ceased being a professional associate only when the programme was discontinued by the Academy.

Since that time I have continued to practice and teach according to the Academy’s standards. When teaching Reiki, I supply each of my students with my self-published textbook, which sets out in detail the content of the workshop.

In addition, I am a professional member of the Australian Reiki Connection, Master/Teacher level and as such, adhere to its code of conduct when carrying out treatments and/or conducting workshops.

I absolutely love to teach Reiki and I do so at any given opportunity. For me, one of the greatest things about Reiki is how easily it can be taught to another and how they are then able to take care of their own self-treatment needs.

As a spiritual practice, Reiki has assisted me immensely on my own individual journey to discover the truth of who I am and as a result, has assisted me in finding not only an ever increasing degree of inner peace and tranquility, but also has assisted me in dealing with the trials and tribulations of daily life.

Although, I still practice Reiki for those who do not wish to learn, appointments are limited and I recommend you call to book in advance, or you may miss out.
